DS22 is going today - a group of college students has organized a bus trip! The ironic thing is DH and I met on a bus trip from the same college (OSU) to the Derby 31 years ago!!!!

They sure do. They even sell them at grocery stores here in the Bluegrass.

Well, I totally called the Oaks yesterday (third year in a row), and I called the Derby Trial last week as well. Perhaps I'm on a streak! After much hemming and hawing I've decided to make my trifecta box 3-4-7 (that's Twice the Appeal, Stay Thirsty and Pants on Fire). If it's sloppy at post time I'd throw in Soldat for the superfecta...if the track is fast it'll be Mucho Macho Man.

Longshot I am going with Twinspired.

What is Dialed in going to go off at tomorrow with MO out.

Twinspired is the only grey in the field, so he'll be easy to pick out. I think Dialed In will stay 4-1...maybe go down to 3-1.

On the other hand my 5 yr old gson got hooked on horse racing last year watching the derby picked the winner last year. LOVES LOVES watching the horse racing channel on TV more often than not picks the winning horse an is also GREAT at pretending to be the aanouncer for the races.

Gson did not like overnight hotel stay even tho there was an indoor pool with water slides etc he could play on he wanted the horse racing channel on tv instead lol

Oh, you're in trouble. I first really fell in love with racing at age 9. When it hits that early, it never really goes away.

Oh yes, although after suffering through the terrible mint julep they filled them with last year (Early Times? Seriously? Ugh!), I almost wasn't sure the awesome glasses were worth it. Gotta go with the Woodford Reserve!

How crazy am I about horse racing? I once paid about $40 for a 1973 Kentucky Derby glass on eBay. No one else is allowed to drink out of it. Just me...once a year.

they do! I got one at Kroger yesterday!

My money's on Mucho Macho Man and Twinspired. I know people with connections to both horses. And I LOVE Pants On Fire! I really hope he wins!!

I guess my parents neighbor is one of the investors in Santiva. It has been the talk around here the last couple days. I often see him about the neighborhood riding his bike. Next time I see him, I'll have to wish him and his horse best of luck.

I hsd to travel a bit but found a bar with a nassau otb machine.
Played the three horses I like. Twinspired, mucho, soldat to wps but I miscalculated and had $9 instead of twelve so I coulldn't play the exacta box. Somone had mentioned animal kingdom so I put 3 to wps on him!!!


GO DISNEY!! Wonder how many Diser's won..

Well, the Derby this year reminded me bit of the year Giacomo won. Very similar situation played out in my living room. In mid-stretch I said, "Hey wait guys, watch the horse on the outside, he's gonna take it. There he goes! Who the heck is that?! Number 16? Who's 16? Animal Kingdom? Really? Well, whatever."

DH had him to show because of the Disney connection. Won 13 dollars, not too shabby,

I did, too! I also had a $2 show bet on Mucho Macho Man. $20 for $4. not bad.

still would have loved to see Pants on Fire. Loved that story!
