Someone just told me about Kenny the Pirate so I checked out his crowd calendar for October 2018. The first half of my week that I planned contradicts ktp’s recommendations... I’ve apparently chosen the most busy parks. Does anyone know if his info takes into account the new toy story land? I was thinking it would be best to avoid HS on the weekends. Thoughts? I’m second guessing myself now.

I do use his calendar (along with Touring Plans) and I do believe he has accounted for TSL though nobody really knows how it will affect things until it goes live. If you are planning to use EMH's then you will be going against KtP's calendar every day as it will show that as a busy park for that day. I use them as guidelines but none will be completely accurate. Park hoppers (or AP's) help greatly as you can change things up on the fly if things get too busy for you at a given park.

You can do whatever days you want, but over a number of trips, I trust his recommendations. I'm sure you chose the most busy parks for the same reasons everyone else does, EMH being a main one.

I have some of his worst days but it's due to EMH. We will hop out of that park around 11 and go to the best park in the evening.

Also MK will have a lot of AVOIDS on non party nights. I have one morning where we are going to MK on a worst day. It's a non party day and from what I've heard the evenings are the worst due to limited showing of HEA. We are only doing the morning and then hopping to Epcot that evening.

Crowd calendars do nothing but get me to second guess my plans :).

They are guesses, but educated guesses. Just know why they consider certain parks the "worse day" and just plan accordingly. (like plan around parties, )

Yeah, I just looked at the days we'll be there and I basically picked the busiest days to be there. We're going to take mid-day breaks and stay late for EMH though

@kennythepirate does your crowd calendar take Toy Story Land into account?

Kenny accounts for everything. Kenny has more up to date and current information on his site than Disney does sometimes.

I can’t plan according to crowd calendars or I would make myself crazy. We do what works best for us.

I like KTP and TP crowd calendars, they are great tools to help plan but at the end of the day, I go with what works for the days we're there and make the most of it. If it gets too crazy, we leave and do a resort break or PH. Don't let the crowd calendar make you crazy. If you can't move your park days, then leave it be. If you can adjust, maybe make a switch if it won't derail all your other plans. Just know you're already a step ahead some park goers that haven't even ever heard of crowd calendars or planning their day at the parks.

Yup. I just checked again and all of my MK days are worst park days or AVOID days. I can't help it. We always have to go to MK on arrival day which is an avoid day. Another MK morning is an avoid day due to it being a non party day. And we are doing MK PM EMH (hoping for 2 am) which of course is a worst park day.

You just have to roll with it and go in with a good plan. And hop out of the park if necessary.

Yep we are going to MK on arrival day, which is a Saturday. *gasp*

Checking into the Contemporary makes it almost mandatory to walk over!!!

We are also looking at his numbers and we have scheduled several of his red days (due to EMH) but I look at it this way. We do rope drop to park close and when it gets really crowded we do things like CoP and Tiki Birds and when it gets super crowded that's when I tell the girls its time to do their shopping. Shopping is air conditioned and when lines are crazy usually not so in the stores.

Sooooooooo I am going to flop two of our days due to Best Park recommendations. I usually don't do this but I was tempted this time and I'm going to go for it.

11/5 I had us going to Epcot in the AM and DHS in the PM. MK, EP and DHS are all best parks this day BUT MK closes at 4:30 pm this day due to a CM event. I know from reading the boards the park will have extremely low crowds. Like REALLY low.

11/7 I had us going to MK in the AM and EP in the PM. MK is an AVOID day (not even worst park but AVOID) and EP is best park.

So I flopped those two mornings. We will do MK in the AM and DHS in the PM on 11/5 with our FP+ at DHS. 11/7 we will do Epcot all day with a midday break by the pool (weather permitting) at BWV.
