Does any one know the new rate for DVC members for the new kennel. We have always taken our dog to the kennel at TTC but the prices for the new kennel is twice as much.

I don't know the new rates, but I did look at what Disney put online about the new kennel, and it looks really nice. The current kennels at TTC and FW are really awful IMHO. Though the new kennel will cost more, your dogs will be much more comfortable. Look at it this way - old kennel is like a room at All Stars, new kennel is like a 2 BR villa at BLT! One costs a lot more, but you get a lot more too!

I've used the chain before here in Charlotte. I wasn't happy with the price. We also walked the dogs back to their kennel. Everything is indoors. They didn't have an indoor/outdoor run. It was basically a crate. They had floors upon floors of crates. They even had them stacked 2 high. My dogs are heavy so they were on the bottom crate and there were smaller dogs in the crate above them. The dogs didn't seem to have a problem when they came home. I guess they are pretty adaptable. The only reason we used them is because I forgot to book our regular kennel and by the time I realized it they were booked. The only way I would use Best Friends is in an emergency. Sorry to be a downer.

The Best Friends Kennel is scheduled to open around the first of September. Here are the rates from the Orlando Sentinel article about the kennel.

Dog stays begin at $37 per night ($34 for resort guests), which includes indoor boarding with two potty walks. At the high end, the VIP suites go for $76 per night ($69 for resort guests). Cat owners will pay $23 ($21 for a resort guest) for a two-level condo and $32 ($30 for a resort guest) for a four-level condo per night.
