Kennedy Space Center??

Great site! Thanks for the link!

Did you take the regular tour that is included in admission or the "up close" one that is guided and costs extra? Which IMAX movies did you see and do you recommend them?

I think it's great how you enjoyed your trip even though you didn't get to see the shuttle!

They were not doing the upclose tours because there was supposed to be a launch that day. I think I paid like $37.50 per person which would have included the launch viewing tour.
We saw both IMAX movies. One was about a young girl on the space station (3D) and the other was about the KSC and the shuttles. We spent more time standing in line to see the movies than we did watching the movies. The 3D movie was baaad we thought while the history movie was good. We had seen the same movie maybe 12 years ago.
There was serveal things for kids that we did not do. You can tell from the photos we are beyond child raising years.
Glad you liked it.
We're going to try again in Aug.
If you have never been GO.

We went to KSC on Saturday after the 4/13-4/20 7 day cruise. We missed the re-entry by one day! :( We went to Avis, picked up our car, checked into the Radisson, got $2.50 discount coupons in the lobby and arrived at KSC by 9:45AM. We did do the Up Close bus tour. It costs $20 more, but was well worth it! It takes about 2 hours(use the restrooms before you start the tour!). They stopped twice in the secure areas for us to take pictures of the Assembly building and the launch pad sites- so cool! We saw the huge crawler that they use to transport the shuttle and rockets to the launch pads. We were in a very comfortable bus. We didn't get out of the bus at all, except the two times to take pictures & got back on the same bus. Our tour guide was a former Aero Space engineer & was very interesting. The bus driver stopped and pointed out gators and turtles along the way, in addition to the famous Eagle's Nest. The tour ended at the Saturn5 building - which is incredible! When you are done, you hop a bus back to the vistors center to view the other exhibits.
We would not have seen as much & received as much info if we had not done the Up Close tour. We pooped out by 4PM though. We didn't do IMAX, as the lines were long & we were too tired to wait. We got up @5:30AM disembarkation morning!

It was a worthwhile visit. Hope this helps!
