I just saw this and thought wow! What a great opportunity to see if we can get a group of Boy Scouts in to earn their Space Exploration merit badge!
Do you know if there is a limit to the number of people you can get in?
Do you know if FL residents can take part in this too?
I read all the posts and I just haven't seen FL residents responding - that's why I asked.
I have been to KSC 5 times in the past 3 years for Salute to Scouts (Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) and they always put on an awesome program for them. I've done the Overnight Adventure Program (slept under the Saturn V rocket) and have taken the Then and Now Tour (which if you love the history of the space program, is pretty neat).
You get to see the site of the Apollo 1 fire which killed Astronauts Grissom, White and Chaffey. I felt like I'd come full circle with Gus because we've seen his Mercury Capsule when it was in St. Louis and then just earlier had been at the site of his Mercury launch and had seen his (stolen from his family -- long story) Mercury space suit at the Hall of Fame and Museum.
When we toured the blast house for the first US Manned space flight, they opened the thick blast doors and told us it wasn't mold we smelled but "History". Of course, it reeked of mold and rotting old computers, but it was pretty neat. My DS was with me (who is just as big of a space junkie as I am) and he got to "flip the switch" to launch Alan Shepard when we did a mock countdown. It was really neat.

What state are you from? We are coming in August, too! Did you specify that date or just give a range?
I didn't expect to hear from them over the week-end, but still . . .
Thanks!
