We are going to be down there when the Launch goes off on 8/27. Is there somewhere we can go to see the shuttle launch (I mean, just seeing it from the air, not watching the actual takeoff) w/o having to go to KSC? It would cost $170 for us to go just to the visitors center (according to the package deal). Is there another area nearby where we could watch it? If not, we won't go...we are already doing Animal Kingdom that day, but that would be a cool thing to see if we could:)
Thanks!

Hi Brenda
If you google best place watch shuttle launch there is plenty advice like http://www.launchphotography.com/Shuttle_Launch_Viewing.html
I got eamil from KSC yesterday telling me they had brought launch forward by 1 day, this would be great for us as we will be in airport on the 28th when it was going to take off.
I would love to go in the space centre to see it but the chances are it will be delayed and there are no refunds on any of the packages, we will probably be home when it launches.
People have posted on here before they have actually seen it take off from the theme park area. So get anywhere on the space coast and you should have no problems.
Going to have a look at our options with our annual pass, see what they offer if anything.
