Kelly's first day back today...who watched.

Here are two videos on it. The first one shows a background retrospective by Inside Edition, which shows Kelly doing the same things TWICE first to Regis (and then WHY Rosie O'Donnell got into it):

Now, knowing the overview, watch the video of the incident with Clay and how the next time on the show, Kelly goes off about it for 3 minutes! And the WAY she did it. :sad2: What's interesting is that she once again talks about demanding RESPECT, (like her speech about the network not giving her advance notice,) yet, IMO, she's quite rude talking about Clay, without him being there to defend himself or able to apologize or clear things up. :sad2:

:scared: Uh. . . yeah, NOW we know WHY no one at the network or Michael wanted to be the one to tell her he was leaving. :duck: :duck: :duck:
ALSO WHY the network, in Kelly's own words this Wed, had "sharp shooters or snipers up in the balcony," to make sure she didn't stray off topic of the message they allowed and approved of her to say when she came back. If they hadn't, she would have gone off about them and Michael for 3 minutes. :sad2:

She can be a vindictive ***** :furious:

I remember hearing about the Clay Aiken incident back when it happened. But I had never seen the additional footage of her doing it to Regis.

I have even less respect for her now. That's just ridiculous.

And I just saw some footage from yesterday's show, the clip about divorce. That's really sad to watch.

I tuned in for 2 minutes yesterday. They were talking about chopsticks. It was supposed to be a funny bit, but Michael said something and out came a vindictive zinger from Kelly, putting him down. :duck: I watched long enough to see how Michael was handling her, (after a stunned millisecond, he ignored the jab, and went on with the chopstick bit,) but I didn't stay to watch more than that. Yes, the tension between them is palpable. :scared: They don't even look at each other much anymore, and when the do, they barely look each other in the eyes. It's obvious Kelly is mad at him too. It's not just with the Network and the higher ups. I have to wonder if Michael will even last the next two weeks? :crazy2:

And Kelly doesn't see, she is ruining her own show. May Sweeps Weeks starting. The way she is going after Michael, show will kill her own ratings for the show and SHE will be the one to get it canceled by her own attitude. :sad2:

What happened with the chopsticks? I missed it yesterday! Man it must be hard for Michael to go to work. I hope he makes it the next two weeks.

No wonder it took so long to find somebody to take the position as Kelly's so-called co-hose (ie. whipping boy)

Seriously...
Who would even take this gig, now.
Why even try to find somebody...
Because, it is obvious, in every way that this is "THE KELLY RIPA SHOW..."

I watched the footage of the whole 'divorce' thing.
OMG.
She is one horrid, horrid, person.
The look on Michael's face was priceless!!!!
He is trying to handle this with some kind of class and tact...

Methinks he should have some kind of illness or injury so that he can, and does, actually 'leave Kelly in the dust'.
But he is way to much of a class act for that.

This video makes me miss Regis. He cracked me up.

I used to like Kelly, but over time she has become too big for her britches. Some celebrities need to step back and realize they are great entertainers, but put it into perspective. You're no better than anyone else. You may make a lot of money -- but your poo still stinks honey.

(Crass, I know. But true.)

Kelly only has herself to blame when she keeps getting passed by for promotions. She needs a crash course in being professional.

For me, that's it, in a nutshell. She doesn't act professionally. She acts like a spoiled diva. SHOULD she have known about this change in advance? Maybe... I might even say probably. Did she handle it like a professional, responsible adult? Not in a hot second. She should have addressed this privately, with management (or whomever the appropriate person in the show-biz world might be). Instead she chose to go on public TV and whine about "me, me, me." Everyone here always complains about people who air their laundry on Facebook; what Kelly Ripa did is about the equivalent, IMO. Time to go away, little girl, because NOBODY is going to want to co-host with you ever again.

It just occurred to me that Kelly's "birdnesting" segment was not just about Michael's divorce, but also about her having to birdnest with him over the next couple of weeks until he leaves. She spoke loud and clear when she said, "It sounds like a disaster to me."

Not sure if it's intentional but his reply summarizes his situation with Kelly really well:

"But I don't like that idea," Strahan interjected. "I look at it like this: If you're in a relationship with somebody, apparently, there's love there at some point … Things changed. But if things changed, it's very important to be happy instead of being miserable together, to be happy by yourself, because your kids are going to pick up on whatever." Strahan also noted that his ex-wife has a bigger home than he does.

I'm a little dismayed to hear Kelly making comments "aimed at Michael" ie today the Divorce reminders!

I could feel a lot of tension between Kelly And Michael, especially when she asking him about the divorce situation (should kids stay in the same house and the divorced parents take turns living with them). She seemed to want to brag that that was nothing she had experience with. Maybe I'm just senitive because I'm not feeling well but all I could think was, it's a good thing Michael is leaving in May!

I just had to look up the Divorce segment since so many people mentioned it. I found a video. I couldn't find a cut down clip. This is the whole beginning of the show, but it starts at about the 2:50 mark, (so you get in some of the lead-in bird talk, about a bird seen for the first time in 10 years in Central Park,) and goes to 6:48 mark. (Just move your mouse cursor to the 2:50 mark along the moving red line at the bottom and click to start it there. :) )

Notice: Michael actually has a real news clipping in his hand.
Kelly just has some type written page of an "article" that she probably had copied & pasted, that she researched to go with Michael's "birds nests" segment AND just happens to be on divorce. :sad2:

Also notice: she doesn't really look at Michael very much. She spends so much time looking down, reading over & over those few sentences of the article for 3 minutes, while Michael is talking. :sad2: Yeah, she's gunning for him. :duck:

Does anyone know what the chopstick comment was? I can't find it.

Does anyone know what the chopstick comment was? I can't find it.

It was a very small comment. I looked at it again and wasn't sure if it was worth posting. Kelly was talking about those disposable chopsticks that one gets in Chinese & Japanese restaurants. How people usually grab the ends and break them apart then rub the tops together to smooth them down & get rid of the extra wood.

Michael said he had heard that in some places, doing that it's considered offensive. Kelly said where SHE lives, on the posh Upper East Side, it's not offensive. That's how they do it in the rich section of town. :snooty:

At the time that I originally watched it, knowing the under-current of tension now between them, she seemed to be dissing Michael (instead of just being funny.) That having lived elsewhere (like from the ghetto or where ever,) he wouldn't know what's culturally right, like the Upper East Side does. Michael passed it off, laughing about it, like stupid him, what does he know? But, after looking at that segment again, right after the Divorce segment, it seems like a very small dig. But, maybe she's just getting bolder with her snipes with each passing day? :duck: So what happened the day before pales now in comparison. :confused3 But, it made me stop watching that day.

It starts at the 9:58 mark in the video below:

I remember back when they were interviewing co-hosts when Kathie Lee left. They were trying out various people and believe it was down to Kelly, Jane Krakowski or Bernadette Peters. My choice would have been Jane Krakowski. Kelly was my number 3 pick when it came down to the end. I have never cared for her and felt she was too diva-ish even from the beginning. Way back in the day when Live was just getting started and it was a NY area show, we were in North Jersey and I watched it back then. I enjoyed Regis more than any co-host.

He's correct, it is considered rude. ::yes:: No matter what the Upper East side says.

And her retort was even more offensive. His look into the camera both days (this and divorce comment) was priceless though. That smile of do you feel my pain -- see this BS I'm dealing with!

I feel you, Strahan. And I have respect for you that you're taking the high road. Classy! :thumbsup2

Absolutely- he looks better, more professional, and classier every day. While she looks pettier, less professional, and more of a diva.

Oh, okay. :thumbsup2 Maybe I was just so much in shell shock for Michael  after seeing the Divorce segment, :crazy2: that the day before seemed like a lesser deal. I'm glad I didn't imagine the chopstick incident. (Not glad that it happened to Michael though. :()

I really was never that much of a Michael fan. But I'm becoming more and more of one with each passing day.

Me too. :thumbsup2 I feel like we all should start a Twitter campaign to #FreeMichaelStrahan! before May 13th. He shouldn't have to sit there while she takes pot shots at him every day for 10 more days, and getting worse & more personal every day. :duck: She's a real piece of work. :sad2:

Yeah, I can see how she is taking shots and digs at him. His face was like "oh Lordy please let it be May 13th." I really feel for the guy.

She's only making herself look bad with her digs at Michael.

She should get over herself.

I used to like her, but not so much anymore.

I basically stopped watching after the whole incident with Clay Aikens. I am a huge fan of his, not just his talent, but him personally because he is such a kind caring person. I thought she was so offensive and it completely changed my opinion of her. I agree with others who liked her when she first started. Then she changed, but then again maybe she didn't, and this is who she has always been, full of herself, bragging about her house in the Hamptons, etc. I don't think she cares about the average person. To me, she always seems condescending. Really, who does she think she is, that the executives of ABC have to run their decisions and announcements by her. And of course, this was about this great opportunity for Michael and she created all this drama and instead of being happy for him, she made it about her. My wish for her is that ABC realizes how she has acted in such an unprofessional manner and acted like such a spoiled brat, that they replace her and bring in two new co-hosts. The way she is treating Michael should be reason enough for them to realize she isn't someone they want or need to be part of ABC.

oh my...happen to have Kelly and Michael on right now and Jerry O Connell is guest cohost. I do not like him! He has way toooo much energy, he's trying tooo hard to be funny, and won't sit still! Everything in the opening comments, was "I'm kidding". He also makes the strangest expressions, kind of reminds me of Jim Carey but forced. I will definitely pass if they make him cohost.
