Keith Olbermann

It's really disappointing to see this kind of racism on the DIS.

I really miss Olbermann on Sportscenter and when he did radio with Dan Patrick. They were a fabulous pair.

racism? Where? The region of the middle east is made up of 5 different religions and history has shown constant conflicts. Please show me where my comment was racist.

My personal opinion is that Keith is an egomaniac. Truth of the matter is - if Bush kept up playing golf - Keith would be saying "there goes Bush again...playing golf while soldiers are being killed" He can't win...not matter what he does or doesn't do period. And personally - instead of Keith (or anyone else for that matter) reminding everyone how many Americans have been killed in Iraq (not that we shouldn't be told - I don't want ANY of their sacrifices and what they have died for to be forgotten) why doesn't he remind everyone about who these people are that are killing Americans - like Al Queda and Iran?! But that can't be done...its fear mongoring.

What many libs do not understand is that regardless of who becomes president, it is important to respect the office, even if we do not like the man or woman in that office. When we degrade the office as Olberman did, then we degrade America as well. Disagreement with policies is one thing and fine within the system of our government, but vile name calling is another.

MSNBC and NBC have been under fire lately for their very biased news reporting. Their falling ratings need sensationalism and that is what Olberman tries to do, but his 'over the top' comments turn many people, except the furthest left-wing, off.

What does it mean to "respect the office" if it's tenants don't? Why should you worry if some commentator on a network doesn't respect it if the one occupying it doesn't? THAT is who you should be concerned with, and that is the problem right now...no one is taking Bush to task for all of the harm he has done to this country.

Love it, love it, love it! Someone with the nerve to be honest and stay up to W's crap!

FSUMARCHIEF - As I was reading through this thread and preparing to respond, I came across your post. You summed up everything I was thinking and said it quite eloquently and respectfully.

You know, 8 years, heck even 4 years ago, I'd have agreed with you. The office should always be respected, even if the person in it is an idiot.

In my opinion though, it's Bush that's done the ultimate disrespect not only to the office of the Presidency, but to the Constitution and this nation. He deserves no respect at this point. We can't get him out of office fast enough.

I think Keith was dead on. I watch him every night and I find little I disagree with him on.

::yes::

More hysteria from a lefty.

Besides, Oby misses the point entirely about "creating" the people that would attack us (if we pull out too soon). Well, they might but then again, often criminals lash out at the people who put them in prison for committing crimes. It's their mentality and comes with the territory. We probably pissed off a lot of Germans for attacking them after they declared war on us (as the terrorists have).

Someone on Oby's team should get him some duct tape before his head explodes.

Umm, it's not hysteria, it's the truth.

Have a "presence" in the affairs of the middle east is justification for horrific acts terrorism???

OKIE DOKIE!!

How about LYING about WMD to start a war and kills thousands?

Okie Dokie my foot.

Kathee

I think Oby better get some of Glenn Beck's duct tape before his head explodes.

Rant away Oby, it makes you look even more like a fool. I thought that was impossible, but there it is...

Dear Charade, eveyone keeps telling you are smarter than this stuff you are saying .... I keep hoping to see it as I keep reading ...

He can't win because he is caught in lies and deceptions and creating versions of the truth.

Who can honestly say they are proud of GWB as our president??? Who can honestly say that he has done the best for our country??? Trust me, history will be unkind to the legacy of the GWB and his administration....KO was right, but sometimes people don't like to hear the ugly truth. There is no reason to blindly respect a leader such as GWB. I respect the office of president, but I am not so naive as to not be able to see when they are on the wrong side of things. I want the office of president to be occupied by someone who is thoughtful and intelligent, not by a fear mongerer and a liar. Respect should be earned..how has GWB earned any respect???

I will assume that you were equally outraged at the Republicans disrespecting President Clinton??????????????

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: That was a good one!

Don't you know by now that the Clinton situation was different? He was morally incompetent.

If only Slick Willy would have put down the cigar and started an unnecessary war where thousands of American lives were lost, he would have been respected by so many more people.

But that was the point of the it - Pres. Bush didn't stop playing golf until after it was pointed out to him (or maybe he saw himself in Fahrenheit 911) how bad it looked and sounded:

George W. Bush: I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers. Thank you.
[George W. Bush brandishes a golf club]
George W. Bush: Now, watch this drive.

I don't see it as racism at all, I see it as an unfortunate fact of life. The middle east has been an unstable region for a few centuries now without an outside influence.

:thumbsup2

He really gave it to Bush for his recent interview suggesting a Democratic win will amount to an attack on America! Great speech..

Did you bother reading the www.politico.com interview ?

(I wonder if that "sweetie" Keith did) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I totally agree with President Bush.

Bush warns of Iraq disaster
By MIKE ALLEN | 5/13/08 5:18 PM EST

President Bush warned in an interview Tuesday that the Democratic presidential candidates' plans to withdraw abruptly from Iraq could "eventually lead to another attack on the United States" and would "embolden" terrorists.

In a White House interview with Politico and Yahoo News — a president's first for an online audience — Bush said his doomsday scenario for a premature withdrawal “of course is that extremists throughout the Middle East would be emboldened, which would eventually lead to another attack on the United States."

"The United States pulling out of Iraq or pulling out of the Middle East or not maintaining a forward presence would send all kinds of signals throughout the Middle East," he said in the Roosevelt Room. "And it would shake everybody's nerves, and it would embolden the very same people that we're trying to defeat.

Searching for the upchucking smiley!

luckily there are no plans from either democrat to "withdraw abruptly" but only people paying attention would know that

Great to see GWB still fear mongering as a lame duck!!!!

If Bush is so in tune with how things work in the middle east, why didn't he see 9/11 coming?
