Keeping Water Bottles COLD in August

Recently Disney store online had a sale and I bought two water bottles with insulated carriers and straps. I think regular price was about $12 but on sale I paid $6. I bought a Grumpy and a Tink. They came with a matching metal bottle that I removed and replaced with a plastic refillable one. It's a heavier plastic and screws open in the middle to add ice. I've seen them on Amazon but I bought mine at Joann's (used a coupon) We used them this week and it kept the water really cold. My DH said he would use his for other things. He used the Grumpy!

Actually, our resort fridge was cold enough to freeze bottled waters. My kids put their refillable mugs with juice in the fridge, and the juice was frozen solid by morning. When we looked, the temperature was turned to the coldest setting. Just a thought that you might be able to freeze the water bottles this way. That was what I figured the previous occupants used the fridge for.

I have managed to freeze water bottles and everything else in resort fridges. just crack temp setting to colder setting.

We use Polar insulated water bottles that I bought on amazon 7 years ago! They are BPA free and work fabulously! We even freeze them 1/3 of the way with water and freeze them the night before. Then I add the free cs ice water to them and they stay cold. I keep them in a small soft sided cooler that we hang on the handles of the stroller. We each have a different color as not to spread germs. we use these all the time, not just for WDW. We use them for hiking, and sports activities. they have held up great and are super easy to clean. they come in 2 different sizes and many colors/patterns.

We use a Igloo Cooler backpack. It will hold eight water bottles and plenty of ice. We usually flavor with crystal light ice teas and other flavors. It won't last all day, but we usually take mid day breaks and it keeps ice cold for 5-6 hours. It really doesn't weigh that much and the load gets lighter as you consume. But it all depends if you don't mind toting it in order to have icy cold drinks at your fingertips.

Depending on which resorts, some of the refrigerators no longer have a temp control button/knob.

We get the cups of water from the park. Less to lug around.

The ice cream shop was open last weekend when I was at EPCOT.

If you have a sporting goods store where you live you can buy the polar insulated bottles there cheaper tham amazon and you dont have to pay shipping. You can also go to walmart and buy the double insulated bottles

I bring a wide-mouth refillable water bottle and keep filling it with counter service ice water throughout the day.

I don't think its possible to keep it "icy" cold. Unless you carry some sort of refillable vacuum bottle (one was promoted on the pod cast). Even then thermodynamics say its will warm up.

If your getting ice from CS places you should just get some water also (its filtered) and drink that versus trying to keep a water bottle cold.

Get a Brita water filter bottle ($7 or so at Walmart) and drink the free ice water that Disney gives out. The mouth of the bottle is wide enough to get the ice in and eliminates the crappy florida water taste.

We use these water bottles as well.

We buy kool-aid or lemonade packets and add them to the water bottles.

We usually just fill them up at the water fountains.

The hydroflasks work but they are heavy and I wouldn't want to carry 4 of them around all day. I tested mine in my hot car in Central Florida in the Summer. The ice stayed frozen for 24 hours when left in my car.

The 40 oz bottle is too big for me, has no way to drink from it except putting your mouth in the metal (which I hate) and meant I had tobring long straws or cups with me.

I do the ziplocks with ice, asking for large cups of ice whenever we need it from a CS restaurant. sometimes you have to ask for 6 large cups of ice to get enough to fill the bag but they will eventually give you when you need.

The britta filter bottles don't take the taste away from Disney water for me. Maybe I am just extra sensitive.

We stopped carrying the bottles of water after the first day, heavy, not super cold ans just asked for cups of water from counter service places. Then flavored them with mio, or other packaged flavors.

I'm looking into ONE Hydro Flask for the family.

I don't mind carrying straws as my kids are young and they are a necessity. I was thinking a straw & a flip cap might work.

It looks like the Hydro Flasks are the only way to guarantee ICE COLD water. I need to check them out in person to see the sizes. There are a few sporting good stores in my area that sell them along with the golf and yoga stores.

Just so you know straws are not allowed in AK. Even the little ones on a Capri Sun. I think once inside you can get paper ones but I know my kids tended to crush them and they were of no use.
