Keeping Kids safe from Virus' on an Airplane....

We all take airborne before we get on the plane. Then I make DS take it at least one more time after we land. Then I watch him like a hawk and if I see any signs of the sniffles, he takes it again, every 3 hours, until the symptoms disappear.

Works like a charm!

Along the lines of what several other people suggested, I read that it's a good idea to use a plain saline nasal spray prior to your airplane flight - something about keeping the nose from getting too dry helping prevent catching stuff.

We all tried it on our last trip, and no one got sick (prior trips I often came down with something). Could be coincidence, but a plain saline spray is an easy thing to try and couldn't hurt. We'll be trying it again!

I totally agee. Also, if you're on a plane that doesn't have pleather seats, are you wiping down cloth seats?

Hi, Just wondering if you all had any plans or ideas on how to keep small children as safe as possiable from germs on an airplane.
Not a germ crazed person..but me being a SAHM, and my dd not in preschool yet..and we rarley make trips to the mall or anything. So, we have never been hit with any really bad flu's or anything.(Thank God) Traveling in the Winter months makes me a bit nervous. I know washing hands, and that, but do any of you plan to take any EXTRA precaution on the airplanes??

This is what I first thought of when you asked this question - I don't think it's the plane so much you need to worry about as the park iteself when you get there. There will be many more people around sporting a variety of germs than in an airplane. I would simply do the common sense things - like wipe down a grimy table, bring purel into the parks to use before you eat etc.
