Keeping an eye on Tropical Weather 2024

Well that sucks, supposed to fly down for my honeymoon on sunday. Looks like our trip will start right in the thick of it.

Monday is supposed to be our pool day...ugh really hoping things change. Our pool day last Feb. didn't happen due to rain too. I know very insignificant compared to what real problems ppl are dealing with but still a bummer. I'm crossing my fingers.

It's just something to keep an eye on. These forecasts and projections are so unpredictable.

One word I've learned to live with regarding these storms is "wobble". A wobble can make all the difference in the impact.

I wouldn't fret on these models at all and, strange as it may sound, some of my best memories at WDW are when there is a storm.

Following this very closely as well. Driving down Sat, and hoping not to drive in the rain any more than we can help
We have HHN on Sunday night, and that's really our only day to do it, so hope it won't be rained out. I know houses would likely not be affected, but scare zones would.....plus would just make for a soggy night....
We have Typhoon Lagoon on Tuesday, will see how that shapes up, we could postpone that to Thursday.

We went to TL on a very rainy day when my boys were 11-12 and had a great time. Was like playing in the rain and swimming at the same time. Rode crush and gusher 50 times at least. The water felt great because the rain was a little cooler so as you climbed the steps you knew it was going to feel great when you put your intertube down and was pushed off. The wave pool was awesome cause there were only like 20 of us in there. Stayed all day and never had to get out as it was just rain, no lightning. CM's were happy we were there and we knew them all by name when we left.

I would have gone to TL on Thursday since MNSSHP was cancelled, but even though all the theme parks were open, Disney closed TL. (And Universal closed Volcano Bay). I guess they assumed not many people would go with a hurricane approaching?

Often TL staff have other responsibilities when a hurricane is approaching. I talked with a dad once whose son was a lifeguard and he explained that their job responsibilities (at least at that time) included hurricane prep in the water parks but also resorts and parks. Not sure if this is still the case as this was a number of years ago.

Shoot.....Oh man....going with 8 people for my mom's birthday on Saturday. I REALLY hope there is no storm. Is it looking like there will be? We have the halloween party tuesday night, and sunday/monday are our first park days......

It’s too early to tell anything. Nothing has even formed yet. No point stressing over it.

We're driving down from Pensacola Saturday night for a two-night celebration stay. The good news is that I booked club level at the Wilderness Lodge, so if I had to ride out a storm that would be the best way to do it. The bad news is that it's a lot of money and I didn't want to throw it all away by riding out a storm. Lol! I have an annual pass but my BF doesn't, so I guess I'm going to take a gamble and buy his tickets at the last minute while waiting to see what the weather does. :confused3
