Keeping an eye on Tropical Weather 2024

Disney website says some experiences will be canceled or unavailable on the 26th. I'm not sure if that is referring to the mini golf and typhoon lagoon.

The TA site says mnsshp is canceled, but official word to public hasn’t been announced yet. But soon should be.

Yes, mini golf, waterpark, any cabana rentals etc… those have all been cancelled for Thursday at WDW.

WDW has updated all the AK events cancelled for Thursday now, like Savor the Savannah, Rhinos, etc.

With MNSSHP cancelled they changed MK hours to 8pm.
It’s possible that closing time get changed again but I’d assume that’s the latest MK will stay open.

I’d assume things like firework cruises get cancelled as well but WDW has not confirmed as of yet.

This is from around 4pm WDW time (lighter red is hurricane warning, darker red is tropical storm warning):

Since Helene reached hurricane status today WDW’s policies are in affect

They aren’t specific about every purchase though I expect allowing cancellations/refunds will go beyond rooms and tickets and include other things like prepaid ADRs and enchanted extras, etc.

I don't remember a time when extreme North Georgia was under a TS Warning.
That could mean they will have more damage in the form of downed trees, since they haven’t been put to the test recently. Orlando went through that with Charley, and each subsequent storm had fewer downed trees to deal with as a result.

Oh ya. I'm getting prepared tomorrow for this mess.

It looks like the Orlando airport is fully functional today which is odd…

It may not stay that way, but for now the winds are calm unless a squall line is going through. I expect there to be ground stops at various times today, and it’s possible that they will close for a few hours later today when the worst of the weather is passing by, but MCO is much farther than TPA from the center of the storm. The worst of the weather here will be from about 4:00-11:00pm and I would expect intermittent closures during that time.

ETA - this is the current radar, and there is a feeder band getting ready to move through central Florida. This could affect the airport for a short time.

Port Canaveral is closed today, so any cruise ships that were due in will be delayed at least until tomorrow.

We’re supposed to fly there tomorrow but I’m more worried about airports here having issues tomorrow (Augusta GA and Charlotte NC). I think driving is our best bet.

Keep an eye on where the storm passes through north Florida and Georgia, as there could be issues with power and fuel supplies along the highways in hard hit areas. If you are able to, I would come down 95 and approach WDW from the east (not sure where you are coming from).

Yeah that’s how we usually go. Through Jacksonville.
