Can anyone help me? I am planning on taking a digital camera for our upcoming visit (in 7 days). I would like to take it to all the parks however I am worried about the rain, water rides, etc. Can anyone suggest a method for keeping my camera dry??????

Hello,

When we went last summer I put my digital camera in a camera bag, and then placed that in one of those big zip lock zipper bags. The camera never saw a drop of water and stayed dry. Hope that helps!

yep.. i just put the camera in a zip lock freezer bag, and then into the backpack.. I did not experience any problems with water..

I'm going in a few weeks, and I plan on using a zip-lock bag! But I am hoping for sun! :sunny:

With the Ziplocks though, try the ones with the sliding closer on the top. They're a lot easier when you're in a rush.

To get something like an aquapack..w/out ordering online, you can check out any sporting goods store..like Dicks or even local kayak or canoeing places if you have those nearby..they have lots of water safe camera gear!!

Thanks for the info. They're pricey, but if they do what the product description says they do, then I think it's worth it.

Has anyone ever taken an underwater pictures with their camera inside the aquapac?

Anyone just leave your camera in the pac and take pictures through the plastic like they say in the description?

Seems like a very cool product.

We were always told that Aquapacs were not really rated for underwater use, so I've never tried it.

thanks for the info. I probably do not have time to order the aquapak (leaving Friday) but I did buy a water resistant camera bag over the weekend and I will place it inside the Ziploc to keep my sanity.

My real concern is protection during rides such as Kali River etc. as opposed to the rain. I am sure I will think of something.

I would live to hear more of your ideas.

I just wanted to let you know that my camera stayed completely dry in the zip lock back on Kali River Rapids. There is also a little center compartment in the middle of the raft that you can put stuff in, so between the water resistant camera bag, the zip lock and the compartment, you should be good to go!! Have Fun!!

Yes, in a camera bag with that inside a zip lock bag with that inside my backpack worked just fine on all wet rides.
