Aggravated with CM at Kona Cafe last night. Arrived for 5:40 ADR and went to check in. The CM asked for name and time, I told him, he says " I don't see it, you don't have one" . I pull out my phone and show him the number, he still does not see it. I walk around and he has 7pm ADRs pulled up. I get him to scroll back to the 5:30-6pm range and there it was. Irritating. Dinner was incredible though!

I agree totally we have had to give our reservation number before at check-in. I always type up a list of our ADRs and the numbers and then take that list with us.

I know it can be frustrating when a CM makes a mistake but please remember they are human and it happens. You found your name and got your table and dinner was incredible so it's all good. Have a great rest of your trip!

That happened to us on our first trip back in 2005. We had breakfast ADRs for CRT and when we went up to the podium to check-in, our name was nowhere to be found. DH had the number with him and they still could not find it. They had to call upstairs to the dining room to see if they had the number there....sure enough it was. We never blamed any of the CMs for it because things happens specially with computers, I am just grateful that they found the ADR since it was hard enough for us to get it in the first place.

True but in OP's defense, the CM shouldn't have been so quick to say "nope you don't have one". When a guest is in front of you and especially if he or she has a confirmation number for the ADR, the CM should be checking everything twice for that ADR. Had the CM done that, he or she may have noticed they were simply looking at the wrong time.

One time at Rose & Crown, their computer system crashed and their ADR list for the day got wiped out. Only two or three ADRs for the day were recovered - ours happened to be one of them. I don't know how they were verifying the ADRs they had lost, but I'm sure they could have done something if people had their confirmation numbers with them. Another example of why the confirmation number is important.

I always write them down and take a picture of it on my iPhone. That way I always have them with me.

Disney's dining reservations system seems to have issues.... I always print each confirmed reservation AND print a list of my reservations a day or two before I leave for WDW so there's proof it wasn't canceled. I've never had an issue but I carry the confirmations with me just in case.

Believe me, even the problems you are describing above are better than the 'ole days when they simply took your name over the phone for reservations. Back for our first visit in 1990, we were patiently waiting for dinner at the Garden Grill or whatever the revolving restaurant in the Land is called.

They called our name out to the large crowd waiting outside but before we could get up to the podium some other family stepped up and was given a prime table (low down). We were confused since our name is very uncommon. We watched them walk in and sit down. But to this day, we think someone else decided we were weren't there and took our spot! :rolleyes1

To the CM's credit, he found another us another suitable table on the same level and gave our 4 year old DS a large number of stickers :yay:

I;ve got them saved in my google calendar and also saved the email confirmations in a special folder in my phone.... I hope there are no issues when our time comes, but I feel prepared having the information in 2 different places.

that's what I do, I use Evernote and copy my entire page from the WDW site with everything in one place. I also have all of my emails saved in a folder for current vacation.

Thank you for the evernote reminder! I just started using the app and am getting the learning curve down.... will use that instead of the email folder since I already have a Disney list started there. One of these days I'll get it.

I have a neat app on my iPhone called "Mouse Memo" that lets me store all my info and confirmation numbers for an entire trip including airlines, resort and dining. It's nice to have it all in one spot!

I have that one too and it is one of my favorites. I put all of my ADRs, flight info, ME info, and Resort info in there :thumbsup2.

Yep. We have that app too. And we always keep our ADR nos. with us. We've needed them at least twice I can remember when they couldn't find us in the "system". They seemed genuinely surprised when I was able to produce our number.

I always save the ADR # to my blackberry calendar and have had to retrieve it more than a few times. If you're staying at a Disney Resort, the CMs there can print out your ADRs, too.

It seems to me that if they are going to begin charging us for no-shows at a number of restaurants, they will have to step-it-up with the accuracy of their reservation system.

Saving your confirmation numbers is a good idea, but it may not be iron-clad. It's been a year or two since we've had an issue, but the couple times CMs have had trouble locating our reservation, I tried to provide our confirmation number but was waved off. "We aren't able to retrieve reservations by that number" was the reply. One of those places was the Kona Café in January 2010. She did find our reservation by name just moments later, though.

I do this as well. Plus I also forward the email confirmation #'s to those traveling with me and share the calendar with them. This way if I develop a problem with my phone, or if it gets lost or stolen; then we have still have the confirmation #'s on hand.

I always bring my reservation numbers with me now after a CM couldn't find our reservation at 'Ohana.

She asked for my conf # and I didn't have it with me so it took a LOOONG time to get it all straightened out. She finally found us but she suggested very nicely that it sometimes makes things easier to have the conf# handy!

Now I never go to a reservation without the numbers. With the iPhone it makes it super easy to keep all the #'s in one place.

I use Mouse Memo as well!! :cool1:

I was definitely glad I had my print out with my reservation numbers last week. Mama Melrose did not have our ADR last week, even though the computer system had sent us an E-mail the night before reminding us of the ADR (when did they start that? This was the first trip that we got E-mail reminders for all our ADRs). I gave them my reservation number and we got in. Our friends that are there now had the same thing happen to them at one of their ADRs, but I can't remember which restaurant. We also saw it happen to people at at least of couple of other places. At Akershus they were not going to give the group (5 or 6) a table and were sending them away until the lady pulled out her confirmation and basically threw a fit.
