Hi everyone, I haven't really been around much since PCC 2.0, what with school and all.

As some of you may know, I go to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, which was hit by an EF-4 tornado on April 27, 2011. Since then I have been volunteering a lot, the first few days in the disaster area and since then helping run the logistics of a massive donation receiving, sorting, and distribution center operation. The response of our town, state, region and nation has been incredible and while it is a long road toward recovery, we are doing alright now. In fact, I made a video about the heroes, both in Tuscaloosa, and from around the country, who have come together to make this distribution center work.

Please keep the people of Tuscaloosa, Joplin, and everywhere else struck by tornadoes this year in your thoughts. Please donate when you can, and if you are around these areas, volunteer your time. Tuscaloosa will need volunteers for months to come and I am sure Joplin will as well.

Daniel

P.S. If you hear a tornado siren, pay attention. The two families that we helped in the days after the storm only survived because they got in their safe place. The second family even had one young adult sucked out by the tornado but in the end they were ok, as was the rest of the family, because they got in the middle of their house. It really does make a difference.
