Keep the van rental or switch to a mid size SUV??

We are driving from Indiana its a 15 hour trip, we have a van rental but I looked today and I could save 250.00 by switching to a mid size SUV..It says a Ford Edge just how big is the vehicle would you switch to save a few bucks or just stick with the van we are a family of five and you might as well say all adults...

I would strongly recommend the van. We got a midsize SUV rental that was a Nissan Rogue that was smaller than our car for a trip out west last year. Would have killed for more elbow and luggage room.

Stick with the mini-van. I drive from New England (22 hours) and we always rent a van. We have 5 also. It's just enough room for us and our luggage. I can't imagine driving 15 hours with 3 adults squished into the back seat of a Ford Edge. With the van you have had 3rd row for someone to spread out and nap.

5 full-size people in an Edge? That's gonna be tight.

I have owned 2 for Edges, and I LOVED them, they drive/ride like a dream. HOWEVER, they are nowhere near the size of a van, and 5 adults in one for any period of time, other than around town, would be miserable.
