I am booked for SSR and OKW in less than 3 weeks. We had booked 5 nights at SSR starting Nov. 20th and then the last 3 nights 24th, 25th and 26th at OKW because those nights were not available back in late Aug. when I booked them. I had the other 3 days on the waitlist and never got them. So a couple of days ago...I called and asked if the three days were available and of course not all three were...but I the 24th was. SO I grabbed it, she linked it to my ressie and I was happy to get one more day at SSR. Then today I called and got the 25th and she put me on hold because there was a note that said "other inventory might be available" but when she came back on the 26th was not available. SO......now we just need that one night, but we do have OKW booked for that night so that is still good. I AM VERY HAPPY. :cool1: Oh and we lucked out in that we were booked in a dedicated and each of those calls resulted in a dedicated 2br too. :cool2:

:goodvibes Called MS today to check for the last night of my trip and still not available at SSR but she told me to feel free to call multiple times a day until my trip. She said stuff opens up all the time. So I will do just that.

This is great for you. When you call and get the room, are you taking away from the person who is on the waitlist and not calling? If so, those on the waitlist never have a fair chance or am I missing something. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for you that you're getting what you want, just trying to understand because I'll be on the phone a few times a day starting tomorrow!!! :goodvibes

Oh I have no idea. I had waitlisted the last three nights at SSR. We had those last 3 nights at OKW but wanted to stay all 7 at SSR. My waitlist never came through. I just decided last week to call in and see if anything was available.......when I did....the first night was available....so I called back a couple of days later and the next night was available. If I am taking away days from other waitlisters......that is on Disney and how their system is set up. I just call and ask and am either told yes or no. I am assuming because I am less than 30 day out and so is anyone else if they are waiting for those days.....anything not booked is fair game.

Waitlists are good for up to seven days before your check in if you request, so the rooms aren't really up for grabs so to speak, but however I can get that last night I'm waitlisted for I will try it. I'm up and ready to call this morning. Send some of your pixie dust my way!! :thumbsup2

Good Luck....hey ms told me yesterday ...feel free to call multiple times a day. You just never know what opens up. IF you have the time to call a lot....do it. :goodvibes

In one sense you may be reducing the possibility of someone getting their waitlist, because of the way waitlists work. On the other hand, the room is sitting there available for any member to book if they just call.

With the rule now being that you have to waitlist for all your required nights on one waitlist entry, there may be individual nights available during your waitlist period, but you have to wait for all nights to show up before it will be filled.

So, if you are waitlisted for the 24th to 26th and the 24th opens up, you still have to wait for the 25th and 26th to show up before the waitlist is filled. Anyone can grab that night of the 24th while you're waiting. If they do, you're back to square one in waiting for your nights. So, you may decide to do what the OP did and start calling for the individual nights and "manually" fill your waitlist, so to speak.

By the way, nothing I've said should be interpreted as a criticism of anyone who phones to find out if their individual days are available. That is the way the system works, and, while not everyone will know to do this, those who understand the system get the benefits.

Congratulations & I hope you get the last night you're waiting for. I hope I have the same luck you did. I just waitlisted today for 1/18 at VWL. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will come through since it's only 1 night. We were waitlisted in Sept. for BCV & BWV during F&W, but those never came through. I called a little more than a week before & the CM told me the same thing. Call every day as much as you want because you never know when something might open up. Good luck to all that are waiting!
