I called yesterday afternoon, info I got: "Yes,AAA discounts are out,but not for that resort(AKL)on those dates". I just got off the phone and guess what, I got my AAA discount!!

We are staying at CBR the first week of December. I originally had a quote of $990 for 6 nights waterview room. When I asked if they had any AAA rates for that time, my new rate was $770, so we saved $220. We then went and joined AAA to get the AAA rate as our membership fee was only $50. Still hoping to get a better room only rate through Disney, but we'll take what we can get!

I called AAA yesterday to find out what their discount is, and they said 10% off the Disney rate. Hey, anything is better than nothing. There's no other discounts to be had, I have found, at least right now. I may join just to get the discount.

I called CRO directly and had AAA rate applied to our Jan. 04 ressie. We got a 20% discount for POR. Waiting now for AP rates for that time period so we can get an even better rate. By the way, I also had to make three phone calls before I got the AAA rate. So if first you don't succeed, try, try again!

Wow, that's weird. I called CRO yesterday about the AAA rates. The CM said for some reason the system wouldn't let her apply the discount and that it was too early, call back in a week or so. She also said her computer showed that the discount would be 15%. BTW, we're booked at CBR. What's with the difference in the amount, is it the resort? You would think POR and CBR would be the same since they're both moderates.:(

Good job airhead, see you can do all the planning by yourself!!

Remember you can also get discounts on your park tickets at the AAA office.

Have fun planning and a wonderful trip when it is time to go.I have 31 days to go. Then we are there.

Mrs. A- I've been telling her the same thing! I just don't know why she thought she couldn't do it! It almost sounds as though she'e starting to get the "thrill of the hunt" down doesn't it! WAY TO GO AIRHEAD!

Castillo Mom-- The difference in the discount may be due to the time of the year for your ressie. My ressie is for Jan. 04 which is value season. I also got the same run around about the AAA rates whenever I called. It took 3 phone calls. So keep calling. I think some CM's are just more knowledgeable than others or just try harder. You can call CRO with a question and get a different answer every time. I call back until I get the correct answer. I hate how CRO is so inconsistent!

It has been Dis'ers like you and Karebear1 who have given me that kick in the butt to go ahead, stop being a wuss and get plannin!! You guys have been wicked supportive!

Thanks!
CJ( always an airhead)

anyone tried for Oct yet ? just wondering what you got for prices.. Michelle

What about for FTP? I'm in the stages of paying for the FTP trip and I'm not part of AAA. Does AAA have a FTP discount, and would it be too late to join do y'all think?

Thanks :)

CRO told me AAA discount was for room only reservations.
Packages could not get that discount. Personally,I'd call back.
I think a lot of the people that work there are new and really don't know what they're talking about!

I would like to hear more about getting the AAA discount, then switching to Dreams to watch for further discounts. Has anyone done this, and can you provide details? I need to start planning my May trip-can CRO apply AAA discount this far in advance?
Thanks,All!!

Wow! They got the AAA out already for Jan 04!!! Hmmm....makes me want to book another trip! This is tempting!

I called CRO today to get my AAA discount applied for our trip in February. At first she said they were not out yet. I told her politely that I knew that the discounts were out due to these boards. She put me on hold and came back and said that only AAA agencies themselves had the right to apply the discount. I then politely said that I know others have received the AAA room only discount without going through AAA agencies.

Well, after 3 times on hold, I was finally able to apply the 10% AAA discount to my room only reservation. It's pretty sad when I have more information than the people at CRO!!

These boards are terrific!!
:D

Guess I'll have to do the same as all of you and keep calling back. The squeeky wheel gets the oil!:D

We were staying at the dolphin in MArch 2003...I used the Entertainment rate - but kept checking for better entertainment rates or AAA rates....3 days before we were to arrive, the AAA rates beat our Entertainment rates an extra $15 a night...we were staying 9 nights so that added up to something...I thought it weird that AAA rates were next to nothing for so long and then all of a sudden were alot better. Also....I admit, I had called the dolphin directly for reservations all along - but a day prior to our trip I called Starwood directly and got what the front desk said was a "mistake" rate.....I got my balcony room for $30 less a night than the Dolphin was quoting.....hmmm. I like that kind of mistake. I had a WONDERFUL room! 8029...two beds and an Illuminations view - Epcot ball straight ahead....oh, I wanna go back!
