there was meant to be 5 of us going so booked 2 GTY12 Staterooms , now my DM isn't going and trying to decide should I change to 1 stateroom
the whole idea was DM was going to share with my DS's so it didn't really matter if the staterooms weren't close to each other , but would like to be next door to the boys now
there is only a $150 in the different keeping the second room
Plus what is the chance of getting upgraded when having 2 staterooms

we only sleep in the room so having 4 in a room is no problem for us

If you book 4 people in one cat 12, you will be guaranteed to be upgraded at least to an 11. Disney has been good recently about keeping linked staterooms near each other if not right next to each other; in general either both or neither will be upgraded.

The advantage of 2 rooms is twice the bathroom space, twice the number of TVs, twice the storage space. In general, I'd go for 2 rooms.....

We have a group with 6 cat 12 gty and all got upgraded to 9's together! it is done! However no gty. I too would keep the two cabins just for the bathrooms. That's where we run into problems..everybody is having so much fun we wait to the last minute to shower for dinner. Have fun!!!

If it would bother you to be far away from their stateroom, I would probably go for just the one room. Disney may try to keep your two rooms near each other, but it's also possible to end up on totally different decks. A GTY gives them the right to do that, so if that's what happens and the ship is full, you'll have no recourse.

wow, is that the upgrade you got for the june cruise?! COOL! with the prices as good as they were on that sailing for the cat 12's, i'd say you did very well...i SO wish we had kept that week booked...i am in serious withdrawl already!

Yeah, we got really lucky...if they don't change us:) Will be happy anyway. Wish you could have made it.. big group and lots of fun to be had. Heard you got a great deal on an upgrade at port. Never had a balcony..maybe when the kids are out of college.
