So yesterday we were flying out of SNA on Frontier. They had already announced it was a full flight and bags that were too large would need to be gate checked for no charge. We were in row 2 (their 1st class type seating, extra leg room, ect) so we were able to board 1st. This one "gentleman" (I use that term loosely) boarded before us because he needed "extra assistance" and proceeded to put his oversized carry on in our bin sideways. (leaving only enough room for one of our regulation size carry-ons to fit).
I took his bag and turned it forward with the wheels in and the handle out and put our two in the same way next to his (ours fit like they are supposed to). He proceeded to start cussing me out and telling me it was none of my (insert cuss word) business and he would make sure that we had to gate check our bags so his would fit. (the bin wouldn't close with his the way it was after I turned it).
Betcha can't guess who had to gate check their bag?
I'll give you a hint, it wasn't us.
This board has made me cynical. I probably could have fit one of ours under the seat in front of me along with my carry on that had snacks (so it was small), but, his cussing at me made me stand my ground.
I wish all airlines would enforce the fact that a carry on must fit a certain way.
