Kayak through reedy creek

has anyone heard of someone who kayaked through reedy creek. Looks interesting and doable. Just a few areas of concern while looking at Google maps. I would be doing this in my own kayak. Looks like you can go strait through the golf coarse and end up near Disney animal kingdom

Looking at the map on Google I don't quite see where you would put in. I'm assuming you're looking at going north to south (with the current). It doesn't appear that there is a location you can easily get to near the MK. There might be access on Western Way but either way you go from there you'll encounter WDW restricted property (don't know the legal issues) with flood control gates along the way.

I was thinking the same thing about the flood gates. I would guess that one would have to get out of the kayak and carry it to the other side of several overpasses and other gates.

Yea I would get out sand walk around the gates.

Just drove along Western Way a couple of hours ago. Did not see any place that looked like you could put in at. Also didn't really see any significant navigable bodies of water. Just small ponds here and there with no apparent connection.

On Google maps it looks like there are canals connecting throughout. Found someone who is familiar with that area who actually did part of it.

I'm sure they are connected somehow, I'm just not sure how navigable those connections are.
