kayak at HH

WE will be at HH starting Sunday July 31.
We plan to rent a kayak for the week locally and bring it with us rather than pay for the one excursion on site. Cost is about the same.

Has anyone brought a kayak with them?
Any problems encountered?
Can you leave it onsite or should we reload it to the van after each outing?

You might want to call the resort ahead of time. There is a kayak "launch" site right at the resort, but I don't know if you can keep your kayak there or not. The front desk phone number is 843-341-4150.

Update!

We rented a kayak , roof rack, life jackets, and paddles for the week locally.

We enjoyed going out daily at the various tide levels to see the changes in the marshes.

Since my parents are 85 and 87 they didn't want to go out for 2 hour excursions and instead were able to go for short trips and rest as needed.

the dolphins cooperated and were able to see many of them up close!
