Meanwhile, at the Swan...
I forgot to mention that sometime between Carolyn Allen's leaving and Patricia arriving, Amy (my planner) had called me to run some things over. It was more or less like I was a Charlie Brown kid listening to an adult (wah wah wah wah wah)...It was going in one ear and out and out the other. I just heard snippets in the wave of words.
wah wah wah ...make sure Michael doesn't forget the rings....wah wah wah...Ron will go over everything with you at Boardwalk... wah wah wah... etc etc
I did have one moment of clarity where I asked the dreaded question. "If things have to be moved inside, when will I be informed?" She then proceeded to tell me that there is only a 20% chance of rain and everything was looking good. Woohoo.
Ok, back to the story. So after I kicked Michael out of our BVC room, his dad picked him up and they went to POFQ to pick up Carl, Michael's best man. The two of them then attempted to go have breakfast at Spoodles, only to find out it was already closed for breakfast. So they then decided to get an early lunch at the Boardwalk Bakery. After they ate, they went back to the Swan to get ready in the room Michael's parents and sister had.
He didn't forget the rings!
Awww, all ready!
So at 1:30, the limo picks up Michael, Carl, his parents, and sister and takes them to the Boardwalk. Michael gives the check to Ron, Ron runs over things with him, and then there is apparently a lot of sitting around and waiting. Amy then pinned the boutonnieres on Mike and Carl. This was one of those things that I forgot about I guess...I should have told Michael to make sure his mother did it, but oh well. Here is some more sagely wisdom ;-) ...you will not be able to plan and foresee everything, so just brace yourself in advance.
While they were sitting around, Mike and Carl took a lot of pictures together.
My absolute favorite out of every single picture
Eventually it's time for the limo to get me and my family, so Michael and his family start walking from the Boardwalk to Sea Breeze Point. Along the way, they pick up my sisters boyfriends. My parents, sisters, and their boyfriends all stayed together off property in a big villa. So that morning my dad dropped my mom and sisters off at BVC to get ready with me. Then he dropped off my sister's boyfriends at Boardwalk and then went back to BVC to leave with us. Well one of the things I also reminded Michael of was to make sure that he found my sisters boyfriends before they left Boardwalk. Well, he forgot. I guess it's a good thing because they wandered to ESPN Zone anyway.
Back at the Beach Club Villas....
After Patricia leaves, I take some pictures on our balcony by myself, and with my mom and sisters.
I won't bore you will all of them
My dad shows up and it's 2:00pm...time to leave.
ALERT ALERT !!!!!!! BEST STORY OF THE ENTIRE WEDDING !!!!!!! ALERT ALERT
So we are on the 5th floor of BVC. I get on the elevator to head down with my parents, sisters, and Becka. The elevator stops at the 3rd floor. When it opens there are two parents with their little girl. The parents laugh and say "oh we'll get the next one" ::smile smile::... before the door closes the little girl puts her hand over her mouth and gasps. "You're a princess!" ...the door closes.
There is not a smilie face big enough for that moment. Only at Disney....
So we are at the Beach Club entrance and I am excited about the limo. It has a little ledger with our names on it, and I am starting to get really excited.
Getting out of the limo after the excruciating 2 minute drive...hehe
When we get into the Boardwalk, I meet Ron. He talks a mile a minute and tells me what's going to happen. I forget everything immediately as he says it. He finishes by saying, "don't worry about remembering anything. I'll guide it as we go through it." Phew! A sigh of relief! Now while Ron is talking, my dad keeps wandering away from us. When Ron finishes Amy tells us we can start walking to Sea Breeze Point. My dad is still wandering. Well when we get to an elevator to go to the ground level, I find out why. He still has tags sewn into his suit.
-_-
So my mom starts picking at them and I am trying not to let it bother me...because the nail clippers in our room would've been perfect if he told us about it immediately rather than trying to fix it himself! Well wonderful Amy helps alleviate the problem by running to the Boardwalk desk and getting some scissors. My mom gets the two tags out. It seems fixed...but ....well...you'll see.
Lesson: remove those suit tags before! It's hard to describe. I'm not talking about the paper tags with little plastic attachers. These were cloth tags literally sewn on. Oy vey.
We start walking to Sea Breeze Point
Breathe...this is really it....
