Kathy or anyone else ... How was your Gay Day experience?

I know from Facebook that Kathy spent some time at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday where lots of people were there for Gay Day.

I'd love to hear how Kathy enjoyed her time there (other than the rain).

I DO NOT want to start any controversial posts here, I'd just like to hear Kathy's opinions and if anyone else here went, I'd love to hear yours as well.

As for MY experience that day, I had a great time meeting old and new friends. I thought the crowds were light as compared to other years, probably because of the economy. I did not see anyone dressed inapproriately or misbehaving. Other than the rainstorm, which my group fortunately spent having lunch indoors, it was great.

I had a great time at MK on Saturday. I thought there were plenty of people there. It did seem much "quieter" than past years. I didn't see anything that was inappropriate like previous years.

You were lucky that you missed the rain!!! I have a whole collection of Mickey ponchos in the car but of course I didn't bring one.

I just saw lots of people having a great time in Magic Kingdom. I thought it was great that so many decided to participate in Gay Days at MK.

I was there during Gay Days, but the only time I saw any participants was at Hollywood Studios on Friday. There were not that many of them, and most of them had rainbow pins along with the red shirts, since most of the red shirts I saw were not part of the event. A cast member friend of mine said it would probably be very crowded because of it, but I found most of the crowds were from Star Wars Weekends.

Nothing offensive went on that I could see, except for the weather. The only thing that bothered me was an...interesting billboard I saw when driving down Osceola parkway. It was not "offensive" per say, but I personally would not that picture to promote an event which seeks to eliminate gay stereotypes.

It was not "offensive" per say, but I personally would not that picture to promote an event which seeks to eliminate gay stereotypes.

There were a couple on Orange Blossom Trail that I felt the same way about in May. (I know its my own fault for going to 'the wrong side of the tracks'.)

I think I saw a Gay Day billboard on the Osceola Parkway as I headed home. If it's the same as the ones you saw, then I don't think it's any more offensive than the billboards advertising lyposuction and plastic surgery (eww) here in Miami.

I agree, I hate those billboards, along with the ones that advertise a certain procedure that makes men unable to have children - in big bold letters no less - right along the turnpike. Not to mention strip club signs . However, you kind of expect it in Miami (no offense), but not right outside of Disney. I find the aforementioned billboards far more offensive, but the one in question just feeds stereotypes a little too much for me.

Sorry, I really don't want to start a fight, I just wanted to clarify what I said.
