Kate's Back on Track Journal - comments welcome

Bummer about that pesky scale! I hope it starts going down for you, I know exactly how frustrating that is!

I think no matter where we live, we always want to visit where someone else lives...

It is hard to keep going when the scale doesn't move, but hang in there. With your eating and exercise, you will start to lose weight again. Just rambling now, but do you think we have some sort of biological clock thing going on that as the days get shorter we start to "nest" and conserve energy? I have had no desire whatsoever this week to exercise either and I can't even use weather as an excuse.

I hope your allergy shot went better this week. They really do work, don't they? I have been through 2 cycles myself, once in HS and again 10-12 years ago. I can never make it all the way to a full "maintainance" dose without getting a reaction. I am nearly to the point of starting a new cycle again. Luckily, there have been such advancements medication wise that I have been able to postpone it so far.

I hope the rest of your week goes well!

Hope your knee is feeling better!
We all have off days (or weeks in my case!!) i'm sure you will get motivated again soon :)
Thanks for the boo :)

Sorry about that darn scale. I certainly understand that frustration. I've had weeks where I think I've done so well so I basically dance toward the scale on weighing day....to find no change. Ugh! But then I remind myself that this is a lifestyle change, so I should be proud of my healthier choices. Good job on the food choices. Have a great weekend!!

Hi Kate, hope things are going better. Stupid scale. There is a landfill here in Colorado with several of the scales I have literally thrown out because I hate them! May they rot in peace! Keep hanging in there, it will go down I am sure. Hope the knee is better too!

Tracy, been meaning to ask, where are you located in Ohio? I'm down here near Cincinnati (well, the south side - Kentucky actually )

Hi Kate,

We're located in Northeast Ohio about halfway between Cleveland and Akron. My DH would like to be located in Central Florida though. ;)

I'm sorry the scale is not cooperating. :( It's not cooperating for me either. The past few weeks, several people have said that I look like I am loosing too much weight. So, I jumped on the scale only to find out that I am at the same (@!#$%!^!&!*!&) weight! :furious: Eventually, I am going to take my measurements and see if there was a loss in inches..... Keep on keeping on Kate! :cheer2: The scale will cooperate soon. :goodvibes (Or we'll have ourselves a good ole fashion scale bashing party! :cool1: )

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Ohhhhh. I have been gone WAYYYYYY too long.

Surprisingly, the weight has stayed steady, anywhere between 135 and 138, but I'd really like to drop 10 pounds and stay in that range instead of this one!

Exercise has been nonexistant. It has been rainy and cold here, I can't run, and haven't made the time to go to the gym. Sad, I know, but that's the situation.

Work has been busy, and I've spent a lot of time helping DS with school work and studying. He's having lots of problems, and is working hard to bring his grades up. I think he's finally realizing that he needs to up his grade point average to even think about college and what's coming up in the next year and a half.

DD (14 in a week) is busy with 8th grade, they have a lot of activities this year before high school, and confirmation coming up in church. Lots of stuff.

DD (21, senior in college) is thinking about going on to graduate school, we'll see what happens there, at least she's thinking about how to further her employment possibilities. She's in art school, works at a library, and is thinking of library science, with an emphasis on art history.

Youngest DD(almost 12) is going with DH to see Spamalot tomorrow. It's what she wanted for a birthday present, and she's VERY excited.

I've been making halloween costumes for the girls, and DH and I have a party to go to tomorrow night. I'm going to be the flapper that I made for DD, who decided at the last minute that she'd rather be something else!
Still have to figure out something for DH!!!

The party will be challenging with all the food, but fun, because we'll be with a group of friends we used to see several years ago, but have lost touch with. Should be a good time.

ok, off to the journals, if anyone remembers me!!! :teeth:

Hi Kate, we could never forget you! I am right with you on the challenges of exercise during the colder times. I need to move to Florida one way or the other! I love walking outside and when I can't, I seldom make the effort to get on my treadmill. Oh well, we do the best we can right? That is great you have maintained your weight. That is a huge accomplishment with your stress and weather factors. It sounds like your kids are doing well and keeping busy. That is awesome your ds is working towards better grades. Its really a crossed threshold when they make the connection of working hard in school now and their future. It takes a mature young man to realize that so young. I love your costume! Keep up the good work and best of luck with your exercising.

Of course we remember you!! :sunny: Sounds like you've been really busy, but with some fun stuff in there too! I hope you enjoyed your party this weekend.

The fact that you haven't gained weight just goes to show you that you've really got a handle of this healthy lifestyle. You'll get to your goal in no time. Glad to have you back!! :goodvibes Have a great week!!

I am in the exact situation as you are. Maintaining and TOO BUSY!!! Don't worry, at least you are maintaining and not gaining.

Your costume is great! Hope you had fun at the party.

Welcome back, Kate!

Maintaining is AWESOME!

I love your costume! Hope the party was fun!

Sounds like your life is crazy, too!

Welcome back, Kate! pixiedust: I love the new pic you two in your Halloween costumes. You look great! Let us know how Spamalot is. I've heard alot about it. Its supposed to be very funny. Is it on tour or is someone is your city putting on the production. I've only heard of the one in NY. Have a fun evening.

Welcome Back, Kate! :goodvibes

Your costumes are wonderful! You guys look great! :goodvibes

That is great that you are holding steady! :cheer2: Keep up the good work and those last 10 pounds will be gone before you know it! :thumbsup2

I know you have been super busy lately. I hope you get some time to relax and just "be" soon. :goodvibes

Have a great week! :sunny:

Great job maintaining Kate! I'm with ya on the exercise. I know I need to do it to make progress, but I'm just not getting out there. Your food Yesterday looks good. No halloween candy - very immpressive! :thumbsup2

I agree with Anna, yours is one of the few journals WITHOUT mini candy bars in it...

Keep it up! :cheer2:

Hi all,

Thanks for encouraging me, and being here when I stop in from time to time.

No, I've been able to stay away from the candy, but I made up for it ahead of time!!!! I always buy candy weeks ahead, and then have to get more to replace what got eaten before Halloween!!

I did well yesterday until dinner, it was DD's birthday, she wanted to go out to eat at a local burger place, so I had a hamburger, no fries or anything, but then also came home and had a large piece of birthday cake. :guilty:

We've also got a party later today. Same DD's soccer team has an end of the season party, there will be lots of food. BUT they have also scheduled a mother-daughter soccer game ahead of time. Not sure I'm ready for this!! Last year it was the father-daughter game, so we girls get a turn this time. I'm not so coordinated, and have never been good at team sports.
But its all for fun! :teeth:

Have a good weekend everyone. :sunny:

Hi Kate,

I hope your mother-daughter soccer game went well yesterday. :goodvibes That's a fun way to end the season! :thumbsup2

Hope you have a good Sunday and a great week ahead! :sunny:

How did the mother-daughter soccer game go? I used to love soccer, but that was when I had more endurance! ;) Don't be disappointed in yourself for eating that burger and cake. You didn't have fries and that's a BIG accomplishment. Fries are my absolute favourite!! I hope you're having a great week so far! :sunny:
