~ Kate Plus Eight ~

I know the eggs and yogurt are protein, however, I am sure she is feeding the kids yogut that is loaded with sugar as are most kids yogurts, I know she says she uses a lot of egg, but I rarely see the kids eating them. I have a blood sugar problem so I speak from experience. Oh year, lets not forget the peanut butter and fluff. (aka sugar) oh yeah, its ok it was organic, guess what, it still drives your blood sugar crazy and she states very often that her kids have issues with blood sugar.

How about some of the other points I brought up, what do you have to say to them. What about all the sugared up juice they drink. What about her complaining about taking care of all that land when she shure had no probelm bragging about it.

And yes some people actually do turn away business because of customers and still succeed. Shock and surprise.

You can give me the rolling eyes face as much as you want, the woman is high strung and not a nice person. I have the same reaction for you defending everything that she does.:confused3

I don't think they do drink a lot of drinks with added sugar. I also don't think she is complaining about the land, she was explaining why she was doing her manual to make things run better.

If any of the guys that work for me told me they left the job site because the lady of the house told them to take their tool box off the counter I would really have to consider replacing them.

Around here we are not turning away customers who are high strung.

I guess they like to shut us down when it becomes argumentative..such as if someone posts that they think she's nasty and someone else disagrees, and it then becomes personal, so I'm trying hard, (knowing that that is what would prob shut us down) to not talk about stuff that makes someone want to argue.

This thread I thought was more about the actual show (or at least it started that way), but I'm certainly not a mod (nor do I play one in real life) and have no rights to tell anyone what they should discuss. I'm just hoping this thread stays open. I really don't care if someone likes Kate or not (or did and now doesn't)...I am, as I said, just trying to sit on my hands and not say anything that will get the board closed. I didn't see what you did yesterday on the show, but I've decided to try and not to pick apart anything said because in the long run, it just doesn't matter if you and I agree, and I'll let stuff slide that I don't agree with (or take it to PM) because it seems to get us in trouble. I'll decide to watch the show or not based on how I see it/her. If I stop liking the show because of her, I'll just stop watching it. If there is a part I enjoy (like darling Collin, or Kate washing the house), I'll post about it. If someone disagrees and posts they didn't like her attitude when cleaning the house, I'm going to try really hard to ignore it, and just go by how I liked or didn't like a part.

YMM (and probably will) V :rotfl:

I don't see the difference in what you like to discuss, Example: weather the girls got fixed or she had botox, really personal to me, but I guess that is ok because it isn't her personality. Or Mady having a melt down, last time I checked that was part of a personality. Sorry I have an opinion that doesn't agree with a lot of others here, but you seem to forget that I actually had kind words to say about her a couple of weeks ago, but I just see something else this time. The way I see it, you can discuss all things Kate, or not. You can't have it both ways.

We seem to talk about celebs all the time and pass judgment, with no thread closings. Also people will write and ask opinions about something that their spouse did, others will jump in and start accusations and judgements without having even laid eyes of the person or knowing their name, So I think that people like Kate are game for opinions about their personality. I don't care what others think, but I will express my opinion on the matter, just like I defended her many times about the bikini she wore and having her blood sugar issue at Discovery Cove. So I can see some good in her, but last night wasn't it at all. I would be ashamed to see myself acting like that on TV.

Kate is controversial everywhere. People dislike her or are in the strict business of defending all of the odd things that she says and does. There is little in between it seems.
And even on non disboards, it seems to often turn personal. I've not seen that with any other celebrity. If someone hates or likes her (or some form of either) it seems to often end up with name calling. Something about her really brings it out..either way if you like her or if you don't, if you think she acts badly, or if you don't LOL. There seems to be a lot of arm chair annalyzing about Kate by all of us LOL. It doesn't go on with other celebs discussed on the dis. Maybe because she is more touchable?

Even what I quoted you as saying I find interesting..the part about the odd things she says and does. What odd things :rotfl:? (Please don't really tell me, since I would then have to sit on my hands again and they are already falling asleep from sitting on them).

I'd love to organize a manual like Kate just started.
I have a strong box, where I throw in my warranties for appliances.

We have a power washer for the 4-wheelers and one day I took it out and just started washing the house. My dh took it over-it is fun and gratifying. Your arms really do get tired and I was soaking wet.

But did you etch anything LOL..man they are powerful. Her's had hot water, I wish mine did.
I have warranties/instructions for stuff I haven't owned for years. I really have to go through that folder. Hmmm...I wonder if this is the start of a new book by Kate.

I don't normally watch any of the Kate shows. I used to years ago when they were first on but, well, I didn't find then too entertaining for very long. Anyway, I did catch this new show the other night and I watch because I wanted to see Discovery Cove. It was very nice. The one thing that stuck out to me though was that Mady seems like a very angry little girl. I remember her always being a lot more argumentative and sassy but I figured she would just grow out of it and it was probably due to her age. Watching her was a bit sad. She seems mad at the world. I hope they figure out what makes her happy because she just seems so stressed and angry a lot.

I have a box where all warrenties and instructions are. :) My new dishwasher was recalled and Maytag sent someone out to fix it last week. I even stapled all that info together and placed it in the box! I'm 1/2 there, probably! :laughing:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My house is new, we finished it in the fall last year and as thrilled as I am with just under 3000 sq. ft. of space, it is a lot to vaccum!
I can relate to the statement "all mine" and the "grr, complaints, grr" when I'm scrubbing a beautifully tiled shower floor and vaccuming for a long time. :rotfl: oh well!
I think Kate is onto something with the manual. I need to do one in Spanish & English.
I think I need to do one for my teenagers. They need all the steps written out so they can't say "you did'nt say I had to do that too"
My mother used to use index cards with steps for cooking dinner when she went back to work. She clipped it to the range hood & it worked great for me when I was a teenager.
I really liked the episodes - they were much more like the old Jon and Kate - just them at home. I liked the fact that she seemed to be paying for the services instead of getting them donated and turning the show into one big commercial.
The chickens were so much better than I thought they were going to be. But it makes sense - Kate has always been a practical person, a dollars and cents kind of girl. I did think it was a bit much for her to expect the cameraman or whoever she was addressing to get the henpecked rooster out of the coop - sure it was probably disgusting, but just because he's the nearest guy around doesn't mean she should use them whenever something gross comes up. And I guess I don't understand the whole chicken/egg thing - wouldn't a rooster fertilize the eggs they want to eat anyway? I thought people with chicken coops didn't get roosters? We'll see how long they last, but she did talk to them about where they would go in the winter, so it seems she has put a lot of thought into it and it isn't just a whim for the show.
Uhhhh, irony anyone?! Seriously? Someone had to go in an rescue a hen-pecked rooster?! :worship: Now that is funny!
that doesn't make sense, though. they were in regular chairs for a time and did just fine. I remember seeing that in one of the JK8 episodes at the new house.
What do Mady and Cara sit on? What did they use at 6 years old?
They sit in regular chairs. I don't remember what they sat on in the old house when they were that age. Was it the same table? Their table seems so big in the new house. It may be the same table, but it seems taller. But it might be because the kids are bigger!
Where were the camera men when Jon needed saving LOL?
ratings for Sunday's show (no idea how they compare to the first episode of K+8)
Kate Plus 8 (9pm)
- 2.229 million viewers
finished way behind the Hannah Montana movie, Ice Road Truckers, Food Network Star, and True Blood ... but ahead of Chad Ochocinco's reality show.
Isn't that about what it used to run when it was just a regular show (no divorce specials)? June 6 ratings was considered a big success at 3.4 million. The second half was 3 million. So it is down from that, but still considered very good for a cable show. Of course if it continues to go down, things may change. I think one of the hardest things is figuring out when it's on.
I know that some of the lowest ratings of JK8 were in the 1.7-ish range. I think, honestly, that's about where her fan base is. I don't mean that in a mean-spirited way or anything like that. I think the interest hovers around (give or take a little) the 2.0 mark. It will be up to TLC to decide if that's a profitable number for them. They've invested quite a lot in Kate.
it's hard to track when it's on, and as long as it's opposite True Blood, I think it's always going to get beat. I'm a little surprised it followed behind the Food Network Star. I didn't realize that show had the following it does.
I've never heard of True Blood (and it sounds awful). Is that on regular TV?
I love the Food Network Star and watch that, and tivo'd Kate + 8. Actually I tivo'd a couple different things so Kate + 8 was taped the second time it was on. It's not my first choice, believe it or not LOL.
Sounds like most of the reviews are very happy with the ratings Kate + had. Have to see what the sponsors think. As was mentioned, it's good for cable TV..they never used to get those types of ratings. As some of the reviews said, hate her or love her, the winner is TLC.
True Blood, Wonderful show. Think Twilight for grownups.
Oh..vampires, eh? No interest for me there. I've not seen it advertised..is it on regular tv? Oh, I just googled it. Looks like it's on HBO, which we don't have.
I don't normally, and Lord knows if I hear another word about Twilight I will scream, but I do like this show. Much more involved story, but yes still vampires and can be very gory.
