~ Kate Plus Eight ~

Not worth the points, I prob would have gotten, for someone that claims to have blocked me, yet seems to be able to read all of my posts, and then takes stuff out of context. Nope, not worth it.

I haven't been keeping up with Jon and Kate until the new show started.

I saw Kate on Dancing With The Stars, but I haven't heard anything about Jon.

What is Jon doing? Is he seeing the kids? Is he working? Putting money into college funds, etc?

I saw a previous post that he was getting money from the new show (Kate plus 8) ??

I don't understand? Isn't that what many people say when they talk about working? You have never heard a remark such as, if I didn't work, we wouldn't eat? Only the very poor would say that? Or someone just talking about working.

Do you know that if Kate stopped working, there is money in savings right now? Oh, that's right, she could be a nurse and make enough, to uh, pay a sitter? Sure, she could change her lifestyle by taking what would prob be a loss on the house and downsize, she could pull the kids out of school. But as she said (you didn't copy that part) she is taking any job to literally put food on the table and the kids in school. Good for her..she's working. People hated it that she took handouts..they hate it that she works (many here have said they hope her Twist show is a failure and they hated that she was on DWTS) and supports herself and the kids. I can see not liking the kids are being taped, but I don't get why people are not happy that she takes a job (and she was at that time talking about DWTS) to put food on the table.
Exactly!!! :)

Because she stated - quite emphatically during one of her couch interviews - that her children "deserve everything handed to them on a silver platter".. As much as I was used to Kate's off-the-wall statements way back when I still watched the show now and then, that was a real jaw dropper even for me! The only thing I can see that has changed since then is that she now thinks she deserves life on a silver platter too.. All she has to do to acquire it is to keep her kids working..

C. Ann I agreed with so much in your much longer post, but have to point out an inaccuracy in this paragraph. Kate said that her children "deserve everything handed to them on a golden platter." It really stuck in my mind because the usual term is definitely silver platter. :goodvibes

She may have been thinking of the goose that laid the golden eggs. Now that would make sense.

I don't get it..seems like they were just being silly, wonder why they say he was stoned?

my guess is that what's her face wants revenge, since she claims Jon still owes her money. although this doesn't make her look any better... so someone else may have provided the "source material" for the story. at any rate, it will be ALL OVER the place before lunch time.

and aside from partaking in (alleged) illegal activity, he's a grown man, was away on a trip and not responsible for the children when this may or may not have taken place. so, while it's an alleged poor choice in my book, hardly worth spreading far and wide over the internet. with that said, if the allegations of it happening at home are true, I'd have a much different opinion.

and I guess I should have posted this on the other thread, since this has nothing to do with Kate's show.

and aside from partaking in (alleged) illegal activity,
It shows him smoking Marlboro's. I don't get the stoned/illegal activity reference. To me, they are just acting silly, haming it up for their camera.

I don't get it..seems like they were just being silly, wonder why they say he was stoned?

Because he is such a typical stoner. Perpetual adolesent, "slicin' it up with the 15 year olds" snowboarding dude, sneaking a toke in the bushes, etc. Plus multiple people have claimed he's a smoker. Doesn't make him a bad person. Bad choices? Misplaced priorities? Embarassing his kids? I think so.

I guess all of my vacation videos seem like I'm stoned too - I laugh all the time if I'm having a good time.

I don't know if they were stoned in the video, but there's no evidence in the video that they were doing anything but acting a little stupid, so I'm not going to start believing the story. You need something more than "an insider tells us" to get me to believe anything, and even then I'm still going to use my common sense. My common sense tells me that it's not at all out of line for Jon's character, but him smoking pot on a vacation to France where he repeatedly posed for pictures with his 20-year-old girlfriend like 2 months after breaking up with his wife is hardly the worst part of that sentence. Pot (although illegal, I know) I can forgive - if he was doing it, he wasn't around the kids. However, being a mean spirited person is much worse.

What a couple of morons. She certainly sounded stoned- giggling over EVERYTHING- but he really didn't. They're both idiots. Let's hope the kids don't see that.

If this video would of been released last year, I could see all the yelling and hoopla that goes with it. But it was last summer. Jon seems to have moved on. He finally got an apartment close to the kids and at least Kate says he is there was she is away. They must stay at his place when she is home and it is his custody days. I know people were upset that they were taking sleeping bags to his apartment, and Jon didn't provide beds for everyone. Unless he has a 4 bedroom apartment, which is almost impossible to find, what is the difference where the kids sleep right now. At least he is near them, and he is in their lives.

What I am trying to saying is that these child and young actors and entertainers were condsidered the pro's. The supposedly all had parents that looked out for them, agents that made huge $$ deals for them and managers that watched their interest. There were laws out there that were suppose to look at for the interest of these children. Now imagine the futures of reality show children, the one have none of these safe guards, their personal life paraded in front of millions of viewiers, your deepest personality flaws and attributes written about in a book. What future do these kids have--idk, but I feel sad for these children.

Yes, the kids who had problems are the ones we remember. Not many lists out there for the ones who made it the past 40 years of shows and do well. Prob not much interest. No way of knowing how many would have had problems if they weren't in show business :confused3. Certainly having money for some of these kids was a downfall. I can actually think of a few more that on the list (as well as some of those who were successful).

I loved the show! It was great to see all of them again. I enjoy the children and Kate so much.

I liked the part where the kids saw that the filming crew was back at the house and they were so excited to see them. It was great.

I look forward to watching future espisodes.

They must stay at his place when she is home and it is his custody days. I know people were upset that they were taking sleeping bags to his apartment, and Jon didn't provide beds for everyone. I didn't get that when the mentioned the sleeping bags. Wasn't the original arrangement that the kids stayed in the house and Jon and Kate rotated out? Did that all change when he sued for custody? I thought that was a very smart decision, but of course, Kate couldn't be in control when she wasn't around and Jon was bringing over girlfriends.

I thought it changed when she got physical custody..wasn't she granted the right to stay in the house? I know Jon stayed there when she was out of town (at least that's what he said), but I got the impression by what has been posted that she doesn't leave on his custody days any longer. Maybe that's why he got the apartment.

I'm sure we could come up with an equally long list of child actors and actresses who went on to lead productive and successful careers and/or lives outside of the camera. To start:

Neil Patrick Harris
Sarah Jessica Parker (and her husband, Matthew Broderick)
Melissa Gilbert
Sarah Gilbert
Candace Cameron Burre
Kurt Cameron
Nancy McKeon
Mayim Bialik

(trust me, that took me less than 5 minutes)

You're right. I worded what I said poorly, but I meant they don't make lists for those who do well, and we remember more those who didn't. Actually, today AOL is showing lots of child actors where are they now, on their front page from tmz, and you are right, there are a lot that have done very well. We just tend to remember those who didn't do well. I even came up with many that aren't on this page, from longer ago. While not everyone on each of these shows did well, more did than didn't. Ron Howard is my favorite. I always loved the Nelsons, but of course Ricky's life ended way too soon, but his brother David has done well. I wonder how the kids from My Three Sons did?
