Kate Hudson & Hubby split...........

I remember her saying that she wasn't a big fan of monogamy.....a bad sign for a strong marriage.

Wow, I didn't see this coming either. I caught her on The View when she was promoting her You, Me, and Dupree and I saw no indications.

That's a shame. She was very young when they married, though, and there is an age difference between them, so I am not terribly shocked.

I also have this theory that no celebrity marriages work if the wife is more famous than the husband.

I give up on all celebrity marriages from this moment on :confused3

Honestly, Im so sick of reading about their happy lives in magazines and tv shows only to find out they are breaking up a week later.

I am so over it

I swear, somebody is always messing up a good thing. Money definitely doesn't mean happiness. There are more broke happy couples out here then there are rich celebrity couples who SHOULD have something to be happy about. You never know what's going on behind closed doors.

I have the same theory that if celebrity wives are more famous or more productive, than before you know it it's splitsville.

Of course it's only a theory!! :thumbsup2

Kinda like how you have to keep chocolate pudding locked in a metal container in your fridge.....oh, wait that was a conspiracy theory thingy. :teeth: :rotfl:

Not surprising........

She doesn't really have much of an example to go on. I like Goldie Hawn and I think she has made some funny movies, but she herself is divorced twice and has lived with Kurt Russell for 20 something years and won't marry him.

Kate Hudson is so much more successful than Chris Robinson in careers as well as looks. Of course it wouldn't last. Too bad for their little boy though.

I always thought they were a strange looking couple.

From what I have heard Goldie and Kurt aren't monogamous so she probably saw that as she was growing up.

Not shocking. She was 21 or so when they married and now she is WAY more famous than him. He's also more than 10 years older than her.

I never heard her say she wasn't a fan of monogamy but I have heard that his band members don't like her because she crimps his rock star life style.

I saw her on "The View" as well and I certainly did get the vibe that all was not well. She did mention that she was very young when she got married. She also talked about looking at other guys, saying "I'm married, I'm not dead." They talked about how all the guys on her latest movie set were so enamored of her. She just seemed to gloss over all the marriage questions and I really did get the "I am unhappy in my marriage" vibe coming from her.

Better they find out now than let the marriage go on if they aren't happy. She is certainly young enough to move on to better things. She seemed like a very poised and intelligent woman on The View.

Well, Britney and Kevin are still married.
So are Madonna and Guy Richie.
JK Rowling and her what's-his-name husband.

I'm sure there are others; I can't think of them right now.

I'm not surprised. There have been rumblings in the gossip mags in the past.

Actually there was an article about this in money magazine this month. A does money buy happiness kind of article.
It basically said it did up to a point. Really poor people are more likely to be unhappy. But once you hit a certain mark (I can't remember it seems like over 25K) happiness was not related to income.

Britney and Madonna are both on the decline, let's face it, and both those marriages have been rumored to be in trouble. And I don't think it's a coincidence that Madonna lives in England, where her husband is more successful than she is.

JK Rowling's husband is a doctor, not a celebrity. My theory only works when both spouses are famous.

I really like Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, so I hope they can survive her having a hit show!

Such a sad thing to see. I wish they would talk more about the couples who have stuck it out and are still together.
