Kate Couric leaving NBC for CBS

The Washington Post is reporting this on its website tonight...didn't see a thread about it yet. It's been rumored for a while, but I didn't think she'd actually do it.

Maybe the TODAY show will be easier to watch now. I am a Good Morning America fan as I cannot stand Katie Couric. She comes across as one of the most insincere interviewers ever on TV.

Same here! Quite frankly I don't see here as a serious news anchor! I'll take my GMA and ABC News anyday over those other wannabes!

Yes, she was good. I too think Katie is fake ~ perhaps a bit full of herself. While I like Campbell better, she's a lot like Katie. Why not Ann? I try to watch ABC, as I like Gibson and Sawyer, but for some reason it seems "slow" to me. I just can't get into it, so I watch Today by default. I vote to get rid of Matt too and replace them both with Ann and Lester!

Soledad is on CNN and I like her also. I guess I'm in the minority but I always liked Katie. Deep down she has a little bit of a wicked sense of humor streak that I always appreciated. I can't comment on her possible replacement as I don't really watch morning TV or network news for that fact. After Peter Jennings died I switched over to CNN for my dose of world and national news.

I am not a fan of Katie Couric. I usually watch GMA (not a big fan of Diane Sawyer either), but I do like Charlie Gibson.

I don't know how she will be as a hard news anchor. There are many other women out there who I think would be a better pick, that have been out in the field in some hairy areas and know the hard news business.

I don't mind Katie on Today but I don't see her as a hard news anchor at all..

I'd love for Soledad to come back but I understand why she felt she needed to move on. I like Anne and don't mind Campbell either.

I just don't want Meredith she annoys me. The only thing good about Meredith going to Today is that it may mean the death of The View! But I'll switch to watching GMA with my grandmother before I watch any more Meredith Viera than I already accidently do.

As long as they don't replace her with Alexis Glick......THAT woman is annoying.
I wonder if she is related to someone high up with the network..................she really comes across as not being very smart.

I think it would be nice if they gave it to Ann. Personally, she deserves it as she's there all the time. But, I choose Natalie Morales over Campbell Brown...I don't like her at all
