Day Seven--Tuesday, December 17, 2002
Carolyn and Joe decided to head over to Blizzard Beach today. It was too cold for me to go swimming, so I went on a thrill ride marathon. I started the day at MGM, and rode on the Rock 'N' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror three times each. I then went over to the Magic Kingdom to do one of my Mountain Marathons. I rode my favorite, Splash Mountain, three times. I went back later to ride it a fourth time, but it was broken down, and they weren't letting anyone on the line. I then headed over to Epcot to continue my thrill ride marathon with a couple of rides on Test Track.

Carolyn and Joe met me at Epcot late in the afternoon for the Candlelight Processional. Collin Ray was the narrator that night, and he was fantastic. Carolyn and Joe wound up leaving the Candlelight Processional midway through, as Joe got bored (Carolyn didn't bring his gameboy that night, even though I had told her Joe would get bored during the show, and she should bring it). I stayed, and enjoyed the show, which was much longer than I remember it being the previous two times I saw it. The performance is incredibly moving--I get chills every time I see it. I could have watched it every night of my trip.

I then headed over to Canada to do a little shopping (I love Roots clothing, and I had a 15% discount from my Candlelight Processional dinner package). I ran into some cast members from Nova Scotia, and I asked them if they knew where the Angus L. McDonald Bridge is in Halifax. Angus L. McDonald is my father's cousin, and he was the premier of Nova Scotia back in the 1940's, and he was a very beloved statesmen in that province. All of the cast members seemed very impressed by my famous relative.

I then met up with Carolyn and Joe for dinner at Le Celliar. The food was fantastic, but we had a crabby older woman for our waitress. She was extremely rude to me throughout the meal. When my cousin's duck appetizer came out long before my cheddar cheese soup, I asked our waitress about my soup, and she was very snippy with me. She shot arrow eyes at me the rest of the evening--we were afraid to ask her for anything else during the meal. After polishing off our steaks (I had a NY Strip Steak, and Carolyn had a filet mignon), we topped off our meals with the chocolate moose from the children's menu, which was very yummy. Joe had the s'mores, which he really enjoyed.

After dinner, we did a little more shopping at the Epcot shops so that we could make good use of our 15% discounts. We saved enough on souvenirs to pay for the cost of our dinner packages. Not too shabby.

We rushed out of Epcot before Illuminations to beat the crowds at the bus. When we got back to the room, we found Joe's stuffed Pluto reading my John Grisham book to my Goofy beanie baby collection.

A nice day for all - I have done some of the thrill rides all in one day - makes for a busy day - thanks for posting!
