I've been invited to go out to one next week. Tell me about them please.
Do you sing or just watch and laugh? ;) What do you sing? what's been overdone?

I think it would take a miracle for me to get brave enough, but then someone just might dare me too. :teeth:

What are songs you can't kill? :lmao:

I love to karioke! I sing, I watch, I laugh, and I always applaud. Any one who gets up and sings gets applause from me. I usually do a song I really really know. Practice before you go. Find the lyrics online to brush up on. Have fun.....LOTS of fun! :woohoo:

I was starting to wonder if anyone had done it before. :)

I'll have to figure out what to sing, just in case I get brave.

make sure you follow someone real bad, just in case

I thought it was some new candy bar! :rotfl2:

I'd have to be awfully drunk to get up and sing even with a group. :teeth:

I'm thinking that might have to be the case with me too. Though with my meds that might take one drink.

I don't drink much and it doesn't take much to make me "happy", so give me a couple drinks and I just might be up there singing. :rotfl2: I'd feel so bad for everyone in the place, though, because I can't sing to save my life.

Hi,

I sing bass in my church choir, so I have no problems with singing karaoke. I did that for the first time on December 3, 2005 at Kimono's Sushi Bar at the WDW Swan, with a few friends led by Mike Scopa. We did "Lyin Eyes" by the Eagles, a song I know well because the Eagles are one of my favorite bands. I was told I did a good job; however, though I know the lyrics by heart, Kimono's version of "Lyin' Eyes" is 13 seconds slower than the original version that is track 5 of the One Of These Nights CD, so I had to look at the monitor to judge my entrances. After the song I stepped off the front of the stage, and stumbled because its lip was higher than I thought. I'd do karaoke again. I'd love to do "Hotel California" or "Take It To The Limit" because I feel that I can sing those pretty well.

Good luck!! I love karaoke bars. I don't usually sing (unless I've had five too many drinks ;) ) but it's a blast to watch the other people. The worse the better! Some people (a few regulars) sing like they're wanting a recording contract offered when they're done but the absolute best are the really bad singers (me). I'll never forget a lady singing God Bless the USA but couldn't speak much (if any) English and she apparently had had way too much to drink. Just have fun with it and if you don't feel comfortable (or don't want to) sing, you don't have to. Enjoy!

Also, no matter how bad the singer no one has ever been booed or ridiculed for being up there when I've been to a karaoke bar. Many people know how much guts it takes to get up there and aren't there to see a concert, they're just having a good time just like you!
