Kanye West is a total.....

What would Kanye's mother think? Well, in any interview I ever saw, it seemed she had raised him to think his &%$^ didn't stink. And heaven knows, he thinks he walks on water. :rolleyes1 Taylor Swift is not even on my radar, so I have no bias one way or another, but she won. The only people who remotely had a right to get their panties in a wad were the other nominees, not "The entire world waits to hear my every thought" Kanye West. :sad2: Seriously, don't you think there have been PLENTY of times that ******* has won something and many people have rolled their eyes and wondered, "Who votes for this POC anyway?" :confused3

Give him the teeniest opportunity and he will show his rear end. He was probably drinking Nestea in that bottle, so he'd have an excuse to make a scene. His words didn't seem slurred to me. Look up "Kanye" and it will say, "See 'narcissist.'" Even his public apology was all about him. What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

BTW, Kanye, the best thing about Gold Digger, is when Jamie Foxx starts singing, and you shut up. :thumbsup2

As far as I understand it, the award wasn't about best singing or performance. It was based on music video, correct? And Beyonce's music video wasn't anything inventive, in my opinion. Certainly nothing groundbreaking. Just the same old shake, shake, shake...

Yes, it was a best video award, not a lifetime achievement award or something!

Beyonce's video for Single Ladies was "inspired by" a dance choreographed by renowned choreographer Bob Fosse. She admitted the inspiration after it was reported on various sources. You can see the video of the Bob Fosse dance here. It features Broadway dancer Gwen Verdon. It actually is neat to see the juxtaposition.

Kanye is classless and rude. I may have thought differently if this was the first time he has done something like this, but it isn't. He's a loser.:headache:

OK, am I just stupid or do I not get what was so good about Beyonce's video? It was 3 women dancing in bathing suits. She didn't even sing during the video. Shoot, if that makes a good video then next time I go to the pool I'll get someone to videotape me and I'll dub some music in, maybe I can win an award too! :lmao:

Here's the Kanye with Leno segment on Youtube. Don't know how long it's going to be up. NBC likes to keep tight reigns on their stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxZ5eLbCuqM

But, yes, you could tell by the way he was babbling afterwards with non-sequitors that Jay did make him think about what his mom would say. I think he realised in that moment that he had gotten caught up in being the "Celebrity Kanye West" and was spouting from this image of who he thought was cool and out there, and Jay made him realize his mother would have said, "Kanye, I expected more from you. Treat people better."

Imzadi, it's gone already. I just clicked the link and it's been poofed...

I think his mother would have slapped him upside the head...what the hell is the matter with you - slap!

I may be in the very small minority but I think he had a legitimate comment.
Sure it was said at the wrong time, and in a rude way, but seriously, Taylor Swift over Beyonce? That woman has been around, and entertained many, Taylor can't sing live (MHO) while Beyonce rocked the house. So if he had saved his comment for a different time, I would be in utter agreement.

You are totally missing the point- it doesn't matter if you like Taylor Swift or not- what West did was rude, and it had NOTHING to do with Beyonce, he just wanted to get himself in the spotlight.

The DIS mob is at it again....

Off with his HEAD!!!!

What do you mean by Dis Mob? Are people not allowed to disagree with the "great" Kanye West? Please- we all have a right to our opinions- even if they disagree with yours. I may not work in the music or entertainment industry- but I sure as hell know RUDE when I see it.

I made calls and shot e-mails regarding Leno and his validating Kanye. I don't care how Jay talked to him.....West had no business on that show tonight. If NBC put this up as a stunt...they are further beyond the pale, than I believed.

No Leno in my household. I'm done with him. Enough is enough.

I never liked him and all this just validated it even more.
I also thoght his joke was in poor taste.
"Taylor Swift and Kanye West are going to the White House for the root beer summit-it has to b root beer. She's only 19"

The crap about what Kanye's mother would think is bogus. This isn't the first time he's done something stupid. He didn't stop and think of his mother the previous times??

It was immature, rude and tacky.

WOW..Jay Leno totally hammered Kanye with that "What would your MOM think about what you did?" question. Kanye looked about ready to cry.

Fantastic. Oh and Kanye is going to "take time off to figure out his life" after this. Mmm hmmm.

Kanye couldn't even look Jay in the eye. It was like watching the "punk kid" in school get dragged into the principle's office and suddenly he's not so tough anymore (like Bender in Breakfast Club when the principle gets him in the store room).

I was so happy he was asked the "Mom" question.
She seemed like a wonderful grounded woman & from her son's behavior he needs some serious "grounding".

I will say the start of the interview I was talking to the t.v.
I still think he's a "disgrace" & a horrible example to kids!

Kanye + Michael Jackson's father + a bottle of Hennessy = train wreck trifecta!

who cares if Beyonce is better? That doesn't matter AT ALL. Taylor Swift was given the award...period. Right or wrong, Kayne had no business going up on stage, taking the microphone from her hand, and telling her (and the 'world') that she had no business being up there.

If Kanye wanted to say Beyonce was better, I'm sure there was an after party and a whole slew of paparazzi that he could have spoken too.

Perez Hilton was sitting in the front row. Kayne could have given him an exclusive. The guy is a sidekick addict, he could have posted it from the show.

Beyonce's performance at the VMAs was good (and I've seen her live where she absolutely stunk!) but it wasn't about her performance, it was about the video she produced that year. A video that IMO isn't the 'best of the decade.'

And they are bogus MTV video awards, we aren't talking the Grammys here. I loved that Kelly Clarkson said that if it was so important to him, that he could have hers! And she was up against Swift and Beyonce.

It is ok if you agree with his opinion however what is not ok is how he stated his opinion and what he did to Taylor. If he would have waited until after the show and spouted off his opinion to the press then people prob would have handled it much better because he is entitled to his opinion. However he is NOT entitled to jump on stage and basically bully this young girl who won this award because she had the majority of the votes and take away her moment. He is nothing but an arrogant COWARD!!! He would have NEVER have pulled this stunt on Pink or Lady Gaga because he knows he would have gotten his butt kicked. Some of his fans are just blowing it off and saying "Oh that's just Kanye - and he is a marketing genuis" Well I believe he may have taken this one too far. If he has a huge drop after this he has no one to blame but himself.

wow, even President Obama thinks kanye is a jack***

He had an opinion, which he's certainly entitled to. But he absolutely did everything wrong while attempting to 'share' (or force) his opinion with the world that night. And in his typical selfish, self-absorbed way, he ruined a very special moment for Taylor Swift.

It's perfectly fine for him to believe that Beyonce deserved the award, but he should have chosen a more appropriate way to share it. :rolleyes1

Exactly...he had every right to his opinion and could have shared it in an interview (or just letting Beyonce know how he felt) but he had no right to take over the stage and grab the mike from Taylor Swift.

Kanye West was on the wrong awards show.

He doesn't deserve a VMA award.

But he certainly should get an Oscar for that performance on Leno last night.

There are actors who work for years to master the "cry on demand" like that.

yeah - I think he was full of it. He's not one bit sorry and the apology was ridiculous. I guess I hsouldn't be but wow, I am appalled at the amount of posts on different websites that think that his behavior was appropriate. :scared1:
