How wet do your feet get? I HATE being wet and fully intend on wearing a poncho (as other posters have mentioned and given me the idea --thanks ;) ), but what about the feet? I especially hate getting my shoes and socks wet!! TIA!

My feet get very wet when I ride Kali. Bring flip flops or something else to wear while riding this if you don't want to walk around in wet shoes all day.

On a scale of 1-10 I probably got wet on a 6, when I rode Bilge Rat Barges at IOA I got a 10!

There is a zippered pouch area in the middle of the raft so take your shoes and socks off till the end of the ride.

Getting wet is luck of the draw..... if you get the seat that goes down the falls backwards you wont have to worry about your feet because every place on your body will be drenched! Have fun!!!! :rotfl2:

There is a very good chance that your feet will be completely soaked. Often there is so much water in the raft that you get wet just getting on the ride. I haven't found that middle storage section to be of much use. Either we haven't had enough time to actually stow anything in it, or someone improperly closed it during the day, and the space in there was wet, too!

You can no longer take off your shoes for Kali River Rapids...there are multiple signs saying that shoes must be worn at all times. Some people did take off their socks though. Feet get wet on that ride...there are no ifs or buts about it. I would wear Tevas or some other sort of walking sandal on your day to AK. That's what we do and it works out just fine. I kept looking at everyone in their sneakers thinking how awful they would smell later. Yuck.

If you like the looks and feel of them, you can wear Crocs (which are a kind of foam clog-type slingback with holes in them). They feel pretty good on the feet, and many people swear by them for all-day park trekking. My feet are screwed up, so I can't wear them all day, but for shorter periods, they're wonderful. Anyway, they're designed as boat shoes, and water drains right out of them. It takes practically no time for them to become completely dry. Check out www.crocs.com to see if you can stand the look of them (they're cute, but in an ugly way...or is it ugly, in a cute way?)

That is right, they WILL NOT let you take your shoes off anymore :guilty:
I agree that your best bet is crocs or flip flops! I once saw someone with a pair of those disposable flip-flops that you get after a pedicure--they just tossed them when they got off the ride!

You can take a mid size trash bag to keep the items in the center dry .

As for shoes same thing large ziplock and rubber band will do the trick if you don't want to wear watershoes.

These things can all be folded small and carried in a pocket or with your ponchos.
