I didn't make it to this ride last trip and was wondering if it has a drop and if so how big of a drop? Thanks

Yes it has a drop...not a very big one though. Just big enough to completely soak anyone sitting in the wrong place. ;)

no big drop but there is a slide which will generate a splash that will get someone wet in the boat. You are not going fast but the ride is designed to generate a splash at one point

another question on this
can i have a runthrough of what happens in the ride
im a big scardey cat
i even got scared on malstrom
:(

Im not worried about getting wet, but I'm afraid of heights. Is it a lot smaller than the drop on Splash Mountain?

I never made it Maelstrom either how's that drop? Does it have one?

I can't wait to go back and actually do everything I missed last time.

Thanks :)

The drop isn't as big as Splash Mountain. My 3yo rode it over and over again I think you wouldn't have anything to fear, I'm afraid of heights too and I've never riden Splash Mtn. I'm planning on riding it in September. ;) But overall it's just a fun ride. :wave2:

malstrom has a little drop but you go down backwards
the thing in malstrom im scared about are those evil trolls
they look so freaky
o_O

Don't be afraid of either. I'm afraid of heights too (I do Splash Mountain but the drop is a bit too much for me but I love the rest of the ride so much that I do it anyway). Kali and Maelstrom are perfect for us scaredy cats because it gives us a thrill without totally freaking out!

can someone answer my question please?
i'd like to go onto kali river rapids but i'd like to know what it's like

it's like riding on a river rapid. ;) there are no "mountains" to drop down, just a little hill. it's a fun ride because you're always anticipating who's going to get wet from the splashes. It's not really a "thrill" ride like the coasters. There's one spot in the beginning where you're climbing up the hill and it's foggy, there's some staged fire, you go down the hill, someone gets a big gush of water poured on them...It's just a lot of fun!!

O.K., marypops, here's the straight scoop on Kali's, coming from one who's a big chicken. It is nothing at all like Splash Mtn!! It's even tamer than Maelstrom (spelling?), Norway's ride. I know - Last month, I rode Splash Mtn (screamed a lot, but it's a classic, so had to do it), Norway's flume ride, and Kali's. Norway's ride is tame, but the trolls and the going backward thing is a little creepy.

Here's Kali's. You sit in a big floating raft/donut. It is almost entirely slow and flat ride, just a few little splashes and bumps. Not at all a "white water rafting ride." There's one place where some of the people in the raft will get absolutely soaked by a big wave, you are moving slowly, but it is a soaker. You can/will also get wet from the people squirting you from an overhead bridge control (watch the elephants' trunks). There's one drop -- it's not the soaker part which comes early on, this is at the end -- and it truly is a slow-moving and small drop. The kind that after it's over, you think, "O.K., now I'm ready for that big drop at the end" and then you realize that was it.
If you can handle the drop in Pirates of the Carribean, you can handle Kali's drop. It's a good ride -- I recommend it.

Wouldn't you all agree that the drop is pretty much like Pirates of the Carribbean-hardly a drop at all? Believe me, I'm the biggest sissy around -no splash mt.,no TOT,no RNRC,no,no,no,however I  Kali River Rapids!

I'm confused...didn't you read what I posted and PolyHereWeCome posted??? What else is it you need to know?? The "theme" is a river rapid ride. nothing happens to you besides getting wet. maybe.

The theme is the destruction of the rain forest...parts of the ride are through a deforested area...trying to get across the destruction of nature theme.

Check out the www.allearsnet.com site...it gives detailed descriptions and pictures of almost all the theme park rides...best site on the net for that sort of stuff.

First, Splash Mt. terrifies me.
Second, I'm nervous about Maelstrom and Pirates, but do love them and do ride them.
Kali is not even close, to me, to the drop on Maestrom or Pirates--their drop is faster and steeper.
Kali begins by you stepping into a round, inner-tube-type thingey with seats and seatbelts around the perimeter. You can put your stuff in the center that has a lid.
You float away, much like you do at the lazy rivers at Typhoon Lagoon and BB.
At one pt., there is a slight drop down an incline--not a real big deal unless the giant tire-thing is turned so that you are going down backwards--then you are the splashee. Otherwise, it is more of a floaty ride.

Theme: You are traveling down a river in Asia where everything is lush and beautiful with artifacts sprinkled along the bank. Then, to bring in their conservation theme, we see where loggers or developers are clearing and burning land. You see a fire and feel a brief warmth as you float by the destroyed area. It is bare and ugly. Then, you continue to float away, going under a bridge where people can squirt you. Then, the ride is over.

Don't forget the bridge of "watchers"--they can take two squirt guns and aim right at you! I know as last thursday I got dosed with the gun, but it did not matter as I was one of the "ones" that got soaked!

Its not scary at all. Go for it.

Robin
