The last time we went to Disney World, Kali was closed for refurb. I haven't seen an announced refurb for our trip yet...so...if it's open...how wet do you actually get? We love the river rapid ride at Busch Gardens here in VA...but on that ride we usually get so soaked that we're in the bathroom afterwards ringing out our underwear. :rotfl2:Do I need to pack flip flops so our sneakers don't get wet? (another thing we usually do at BG...change into flip flops before we ride and stow our bags/sneakers in a locker) THANKS!

I have gotten soaked to my undies on this one, and other times just a few drops. It just depends on how the raft turns and how close your seat is to some of the water features.

I have ridden it and only got a few drops on me and I’ve ridden it where I was drenched! All depends on how the raft turns. I’ld bring flips for sure.

You will always get at least a little wet. There are streams of water set up to hit everyone at least minimally. And there is a chance you may get soaked

Kali ruined my supposedly 'water resistant' new iPhone this summer, so yes, chances of getting wet are pretty high. Take appropriate precautions.

Bring a poncho - you'll be fine. Local tip at least on GRR in DCA (pretty sure KRR in DAK too) - the water shoots up through the drain down by your feet as you go down the drop. Just remember to put your foot over it - problem solved.

Thank you! I will pack ponchos and flip flops for sure! I'm assuming there are lockers nearby the ride for putting all your things in?

Yes, there are lockers.

I got drenched on Kali. I think there was one person on the raft who barely got wet, 4 or so who got drenched, and the others got wet but probably didn't have to wring out their underwear.

Free lockers and restrooms are near kali.
We always wear ponchos and still manage to get wet. We've been on with other people who don't have ponchos and they have gotten absolutely soaked. It does mostly depend on which side of the raft goes down first down one drop, though. But there are water shooters towards the end of the ride that people can aim and shoot at you (from a bridge above you), so even if you think you've escaped fairly dry from the ride itself, these people can get you wet at the end when you're least expecting it, lol.

Won't ride it without a poncho and my shoes and everything important in the locker. Put the shoes in the locker and sandles on for the ride. I don't mind getting wet (Splash Mountain), but soaked just isn't fun unless its super hot outside and I can dry off quickly.

Tip: Put on your poncho before boarding the ride, and tuck it under you when you sit down. If you put it on after sitting down and buckling up, your pants can still get soaked.

We vacation in the Summer so part of the ride is to get wet or soaked, dri fit material shorts and shirts dry very quickly in the Florida sun. I would never even think of wearing a poncho.

Definitely potential to get soaked if the rafts get backed up towards the end and the water is spraying out. Kali is really fun at night.
