K Cup coffee - weak?

DH likes strong, dark roast coffees. The ones he likes best are:

Coffee People-
*Black Tiger
*Wake Up Call
*Jet Fuel
*French Roast
*Kona Blend

Emeril's Big Easy Bold
Timothy's San Lorenzo Dark
Timothy's Parisian Nights

I got just about all of these from the website samplers I mentioned in my PP. Also a couple of different Caribou coffees. Caribou is another that I think is pretty strong, still not as strong as Black Tiger. I also bought a bunch of different flavors which was nice because sometimes the flavors sound and smell good, but not something you would want to drink 24 cups of.

Tully's and Coffee Peoples' Kona blends are both really good. They are also pretty strong to me. I think Donut Shop is a medium strength.

ETA: I also wanted to note that if you use espresso in your Keurig, you are not going to get strong espresso. Even if you use the small cup size. I used my "My K Cup" and filled it with Starbucks espresso on the small cup and it just tasted like strong coffee. NOohing near the strength of espresso.

I'll keep my eye out for the Donut Shop Blend, lol. (Geez, some of these names are killing me. :lmao: )

I know you can order these online, but where do you guys buy them locally?

Wow, I find this thread so ironic because I've always thought I liked strong coffee until I got my Keurig. I think that almost every K-Cup I've tried (coffee, at least) is way too strong except for Donut Shop.

I normally love Caribou coffee but the K-Cup about knocked my socks off!!

We just bought a Keurig as well and were having a hard time finding the right combination of size and coffee. I enjoy Tully's Italian Roast or Sumatra, they are bolder coffees but with a smooth finish. DH went straight to Espresso Roast by Timothy's. Hope this helped, good luck finding one you like.

I love strong coffee and agree with lots of the advice you have recieved. My favorites include:
Emerils Big bold
Tully's French roast
and Coffee People black tiger, jet fuel, and wake up call.
all of these make a nice strong cup even on the 10 oz setting.

I'll put in a plug for DH's employer- Bed, Bath & Beyond has an OK selection of K cups. They are usually sold in an 18 count box for $9.99, but you can use one of the 20% off coupons to make them a pretty good deal.

As far as online ordering, there are a few sites where you can make up your own sampler pack. Since DH knows which ones he prefers, we get them from Amazon with their "Subscribe and Save" program. We can get a box of 50 K cups for $21, then take 15% off of that price. It ends up being the best deal we have found for them.

We have the same problem. Everyone raves about Donut Shop being a great middle of the road coffee but it is just too strong for us. We do keep it on hand though because it seems to be a safe choice for company. My DH really likes the Green Mountain Breakfast Blend.

yummmm.... this one is so yummy! I don't like strong coffee at all. I'm having a hard time finding ones I can drink without adding water to them.

Here's a tip: If anyone wants to put out a little bit of work, you can re-use your k-cups by taking the lid off, cleaning and drying them (leave the filter in), filling them with the ground coffee of your choice, and then use two little squares of Glad press-n-seal wrap to cover the top and smooth them down tight along the sides. Then when you use it, make sure the hole in the bottom lines up with the "needle" so you don't keep making new holes. It works really well, but it is more work (obviously). You can re-use them this way several times.

try Green Mountain Coffee Sumatran or Dark Magic:thumbsup2

Also Green Mountain "Lake and Lodge". Bold but not overpowering, and doesn't have the bitter aftertaste that some French Roasts have.

Caribou's "Mahogany" is also nice and is a dark roast. I tried it in a Caribou coffee shop one day and liked before spending the $$ to buy it in K-cup form

Just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions on the strong k-cups. Looking forward to trying these out.:)

I am going to have to make a list of all these names  to keep in my purse for when I'm shopping.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
