Just got back from our Florida trip about 3 hours ago. The first 4 days was at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes for the Triplet Connection Convention. The hotel is fancy and upper scale. Every time you drove up to the front there was aleast one person to open your door usally 2 and welcoming you back. Parking is 7 dollars a day for self parking and 14 for valet each time you come and go. They did wave the 7 dollar parking fee for people attending the convention. The pool is really great. It is 4 seprate pool areas connected by a lazy river. The lazy river is nicely landscaped in has some water falls into it. They do have tubes and floats for rent. Tubes were $4 for 1 hour. We rented tubes the first night we were there $4 times 3 plus tax. We found out that they would let you bring your own in, so went to Target and got 3 tubes for $6. We figured even if we threw them out when we left we were ahead of the game. The rooms are fairly decent sized. The bathrooms are huge, seprate showers and tub. We were on the 9 floor. The room had a small balcony, you could stand out on it. We ate one mornings breakfast at one of the restaurants in the hotel. Like the rest of the place it was fancy. The food was very good. The hotel overall was great but was little stuffy with all the staff trying to help you. I never new who I should tip and how much. If anybody has any questions let me know.

Thanks for the info!! The place sounds very nice. We have been trying to decide where to stay our last night: Hyatt Grand Cyrpess, the new Ritz or stay on property at Disney. I believe this place in right near the Ritz? Do they share grounds? Any feedback would be great on my big dicision. I will also check rates there, too.

How far from MGM is it? What attractions is it the closest to?

Thanks so much for the report! I am going to stay at the JW Marriott for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend to take advantage of the intro rates!
I love the tip about bringing your own tube-this is a big help!We plan to hang around the pool a lot.Where did you eat? We would like to eat around the pool or in one of their casual restaurants.
Breakfast will probably be Starbucks and muffins. How pricey are the restaurants??
TIA!!!

Thanks for the info,TripletDad!! My family and I are staying at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes this weekend. We got the Marriott Rewards special price of $159 per night which includes a lake-front room and breakfast for two. I'm heading to Target now to get some floats- great tip! I will post a hotel review when I return.

I believe this hotel is 2 miles from Sea World. It is next door to the Ritz.

Seastar-great rate!!
Looking forward to your report! Have a blast!:bounce:

We went to SeaWorld one day and it was close by and real easy to get to. Has far as the restaurants even the casual one is fancy. Primos their main restaurant was not open yet. They have places to get food and drink near the pool. There is a Dennys, McDonalds,KFC, ect. not too far away. We ate breafast the day we went to SeaWorld at an IHOP on I drive. Some of our meal were part of the Convention and they were good. I hope you enjoy you stay. We liked the hotel but, felt the staff a times was a little overwelming.

Hi,again!
TripletDad-you were on the 9th floor-what did you think about that? How easy was it to get to the pool? Would you recommend a lower floor-how was the view??
Thanks so much for your info and help!

We have booked a pool view with their special for one night.
What floor for a great view??

The 9th floor was good our room faced the front of the building. View was good, we saw some of the golf course and the buitiful landscaping. The place has a couple of wings with rooms facing front and back. the back rooms over look the pool. Getting to pool from our room was easy. We went out our door down the hall about 50 feet to elavators. Took the elevators down to ground floor out the back door and the pool was right there. Even though we didn't have the best veiw available I still enjoyed looking out from the balcony.
