Great summary, I agree with several of your observations. This last trip I stayed at Cabana Bay and even staying at a Value onsite made a big different (was a solo trip and could justify the deluxe and Express passes). I thought the most of the prices at The Leaky Cauldron (and Simpsons Fast Food Blvd.) to be a bit high. But, they had some of the better counter service food on property and there were some relative deals to be had if you watched.

So, far I've had Warm, Cold and Frozen butter beer and Frozen is my favorite. Didn't try the Butter Beer Ice Cream but did try the Chocolate Chili. It was great. Also had a scoop of Apple Crumble which was also great.

Breakfast at themeparks is expensive, that's for sure!

It was similar to Disney counter service breakfast, it was good but no means awesome. It's pancKes, sausage links, basic breakfast fare.

Obviously, you'll have to visit Florean Fortescue's several times!

The three of us shared a adult pancake breakfast once at the Three Broomsticks. You actually get quite a bit of food, none of us left hungry. I got pancakes at AOA's Landscape Of Flavours and they were something like $8 for three pancakes, a bit of fruit and a couple of strips of bacon.

I must say that the hot dog I had at the Monster Cafe was great compared to the one I had at MK a week later!!

Like heaven.

I think it tastes like cream soda, with an unbelievably delicious creamy foamy topping. Yummmmmmmmm.

The butterbeer ice cream is actually vanilla softserve with a butterbeer-flavored swirl.

Thanks!! We are trying to decide if we want to go to Universal when in Orlando. All these things sound amazing. Making me lean towards cutting some disney out and doing both.

Butterbeer taste is good but wwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too sweet for me. I had one sip and that was all I could handle but I am not much of a sweet person so you can't go by me. Now if they maybe had something like a steakbeer I would be all in for that

We were hesitate to try the butter beer but felt we had to. So we ordered one for the 4 of us to share, long story short we all required our own after that little taste test. It's just amazing, "crack in a cup"!

We are hardcore Disney lovers and I must admit with the add on of Harry World we are torn. After much discussion we have elected to do our AP year at Disney next year as planned but the following year we will become proud owners of AP's at Universal. Universal will start seeing some of the money we would have spent on the mouse house. The service is on par with Disney based on our experience and staying on sight with front of the line access all day is just dreamy.

The only reason we are waiting until 2017 you may ask, my 8 yr old dd said she would like to wait until then so she will be 10 and maybe ready to try the biggies ie Hulk, Dragons, Rip Ride Rock It. She just wasn't ready for those yet. We came home glowing so now my 22 and 25 yr old sons are talking about joining us next trip down. So excited!

I agree the breakfast prices looked like highway robbery to me. I'm used to breakfast being the cheapest meal of the day. At Three Broomsticks, breakfast is more expensive than lunch/dinner. We ended up splitting 2 ribs platters between our family of 4ppl and got the Dining Deal. For $19.99, we came out ahead.

I did feel ripped off the 2 times we ordered kids chicken nuggets - once at Simpson's Fast food Blvd and once at Mythos. Both times they gave 3 small chicken nuggets (for $6.99!!), although the Mythos version was a little bigger.

When we split adult meals, it was much better.

I think we will do the universal quick service deal the day we eat at leaky cauldron/3 broomsticks. The kids deal is $12.99 so cheaper than the kids breakfast and they get an extra snack and drink too later in the day. Adults deal is $19.99 and again s breakfast and drink will cost this do the extra drink and snack are free. I didn't last trip as I'd read it wasn't s good deal but if you are eating in Harry Potter seems to be a great deal.

Cream soda and butterscotch-ish. The topping is really nice.

Cold, frozen, and hot all taste a bit different, and most have their fave. But the topping is the same on each.

I'm going to guess that you tried hot? To me hot is the absolute sweetest. Cold is weird tasting to me, especially if you drink it slowly. Frozen is my fave but I've developed a real problem with brain freezes, and I don't like crying at themeparks if I can help it, so I've had to stop drinking frozen. Sad.

Luckily a rock cake combined with a cup of coffee from the Three Broomsticks makes me very happy.
