Who do you think we will be seated with if it is myself, husband and a 6 year old at late dinner??:)

Our first cruise, we were a 7 year old and two adults with late dinner. We were seated with another couple and a 4 year old.

Is it possible or hard to get a table to yourself?

Once you get on the ship you can request for a table by yourself. Check the navigator for the location where you can request the change.

There is no way to tell in advance what your seating will be unless you have placed a specific request. You could be with one other "small" family with a child of same sex, similar age. You could be with 2 such families or a single parent and child. In 15 cruises, we've had about every possible combination, but they have all worked amazingly well. If you are seated with another family, they do make an effort to match age/sex of children as much as possible.

If you have a preference to be seated with just your family, call DCL and make them aware of this. They will not promise, but will note it on your ressie. Then, when you board, go directly to "Dining Changes" at the location listed on the "Welcome Aboard" navigator. You will speak directly with one of the head servers who can change your assignment if it is not to your liking.

We have sailed 4 times. The first time as a family of 4 we were seated with another family of 4. The next 2 times we sailed as a family of 4, but sailed with friends so we linked reservations and sat at a table of 8. This last cruise we were just our family of 4 and had a table to ourselves. Other than linking with our friends, we've never requested a specific table size and have just rolled with what we were given.

Thanks for all the replies.:) I hope we do get with another little boy around 7. Last cruise we had all 5 of my boys and my parents and we sat at a table alone. I am looking foward to seeing who we are with.

As just as a single parent and child, is it possible we would be seated at just a table for 2? Actually, are there just tables for 2?

I think I read somewhere on here that there are a few tables for just 2.

Last summer, I sailed with my 2 boys, 6 and 4 at the time. We were seated with a couple and their 4-year old daughter. My youngest ended up very good friends with the girl and still talks about her 10 months later.
