if you display your medal, if so, how?

Stephen and I bought a shadow box from Michael's, we are going to use the marathon poster as a background and then put our pictures, medals, and other little keepsake things (like the course map, our lime green ribbons, the cards from Lisa, etc) in there. Once we get our pictures in the mail, we'll put it all together and I'll post a picture on here.

My 1/2 medal from 2005 is hanging on my desk backsplash at work... more as a reminder not to eat any of the cookies/donuts/cake/anything else people leave in the copy room daily! Not really "on display," but there for my motivation!

my 2004 half medal is hanging on the wall in my office with the Tigger Hat I wore, the two photos I ordered and my framed certificate (do you get the feeling I enjoyed myself). This years full medal will go up there too -with a pic, the certificate and my Wish scarf!!!

My medal from last year is on the eagle (soaring to new heights) and is at work with me. I have a framed pic of me in the race on my desk too. Everyone is waiting for me to update my eagle and pics at work, so I think I will put the Goofy on the eagle with a new race pic, and not sure how I will get the other 2 medals displayed, but I will!

I have a display shelf that I got from IKEA a while back. A simple shelf that has pegs on it. On top are my bear (in his running gear) a gift from my dad after my first marathon, my TNT certificate from last year and then hanging on the pegs are my daughters Incredibles and Chicken Little medals for the last 2 years of kid races, my Space Coast Half Marathon Medal, My Mickey takes center stage and then my and hubbies donald are hanging on the pegs next to mickey.

If I can remember to--I will take a picture and post it.

Susan and I have to set a shopping day to find shadow boxes for ours. Right now I like to be able to hold it and gaze lovingly upon it LMBO

Yes they had it this year. I think the booth was position across from where you picked up your goodie/race bags.

My poster from last year is still in its packing tube. It is pretty cool. I'm in it a few times--a couple of the images are reversed.

THAT poster! Ok I thought there was maybe another general weekend poster. Didn't they used to have a poster for the weekend, not made up of pictures but more like a poster showing Mickey and Donald running, like a large version of the post cards from last year? I wish they would have done the postcards. Oh well, not like I have a ton of wall space for one anyways LOL

Anyone else? I really like the shadow box idea, but I haven't been able to find one large enough. DH and I are getting ready to finally display our WDW marathon medals/pictures as well as some from other races. Any ideas or new pictures would be greatly appreciated. =)

Here's mine...got the shadow box at Michael's on sale. They have LOTS of different sizes and finishes.

Kewl!!! Thanks Mel!!! Though my bear probably won't want to give it up the medal LOL I think I have LisalovesPooh to blame for that, I think it was her that had her 2005 medal on a bear and had the picture in her signature line. After seeing that for the last year when I got home my Mickey face cream bear got the privilege of guarding my Donald. First dressed as Tink because I swear if i had the body I'd run it as Tink LOL When the weather turned better and BaBW had short outfits, I bought her one that reminds me of the Dart Frog 5K we have done the last 2 years so now she is dressed to run wearing my medal I love it, she's out in view where I see her constantly while home and can walk by and touch it, reminding myself that it is real and that the weekend wasn't a dream afterall

But I DO need a shadow box to put my pin in, photos, certificate, bib and such and maybe when I finally can deal with being behind glass the Donald too

Thanks for showing yours, I kept forgetting to check Michaels when I was there for other things and everyone else I always saw smaller ones or just to expensive.
