I know that I have posted about trying to come up with a good trip for my december trip, but not on the budget package. I am looking for a good deal but also have a good time as well.

I currently have a reservation for the Swan 187.50 (209.06 w/tax) for Dec 26 to Jan 3 for a club level room with a king size bed, view facing Epcot for my solo trip, and was wondring if anyone though that I would be able to match this price at either a Moderate (CBR) or one of the Deluxe disney resorts.

I know that I won't get the wake up calls and disney soaps or will be able to charge to my room from the theme parks, but since I haven't been since 1980 when I was 6, all the information would be great.

I have read other posts about this subject in the resort page, but thought that maybe budget minded travelers as yourselves might have some extra information.

I also have read posts about the packages (Silver and Gold) and there seems to be a mixed review on if they are worth it or not. I am willing to do a package if the price was good.

Also, are there any sites like travelocity that I can book a trip with that only asks for a deposit and you pay the rest 45 days or closer to your trip.

Any feed back would be great,

I cannot imagine you not being able to get a moderate for that price or less for your trip. I just checked the walt disney world official site and the package including your uhp would be $2033.85 (without travel insurance) which after you take away the price of your ticket (you wouldn't have to get a UHP) it comes out to $205.11 a night with taxes and everything. And that's based on rack rate - which that time of year might be all you can get. I would just call 1-407-WDISNEY if you would rather stay onsite and get a quote for room only. Good luck whatever you decide :D Oh yeah....unless you are a BIG eater a meal plan will not be worth the price for you. And Walt Disney World Travel Company only requires a deposit up front and the rest is due 30 - 45 days out (I'm not positive how many days it is). If you go through CRO you just have to pay a deposit of one night and the rest is due upon check in if you don't get the UHP.

Your time frame is during the busiest week of the year for Disney. I wouldn't expect any discounts from Disney that week. $187 is much less than the rack rate at any of the Disney Deluxes.

We have stayed at the Dolphin twice and enjoyed the resort both of those trips. We have also stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge three times, Yatch Club once and Polynesian once. While the AKL is our favorite, we like the S/D. In fact we will be staying at the Swan on our next trip.

Even though S/D are not official Disney hotels, they are very nice...and in my opinion nicer than the Disney Moderates. In addition, you have boat service to MGM and to Epcot which is a great benefit to staying at one of the "Epcot" resorts.

You can always keep your reservation at the Swan and cancel later if you find a better rate at a Disney deluxe or decide to go with a Disney moderate.

Hi jaw62901,

We seem to go to WDW every Christmas...well, we have for the past 3 years, and will probably return this year as well. Anyway, I have never seen a discount offered for the 26th-1st. That being said, our strategy is stay at the S/D until the 1st, and then move to a "Disney" deluxe for the remainder of our trip. The value season kicks in on the 1st, and the rates plummet. Also, usually there are codes that become effective on the 1st of January. That's what we always do...Hope it Helps:D
