How does the seating at Ariel's Grotto work? If just DD & I went, would we be seated with other people or would we get our own table?

I just can't decide if I should spend the money on this or not. DD will be 3 1/2 yrs old during our trip and she does love princesses. I do plan to take her to the BBB which I know she will love and will probably cost the same as the princess lunch/dinner! I also plan to do the PFF too (even though I know some don't like it, we had a great time doing it on our last trip).

We went to Ariel's Grotto for her 1st birthday so technically we have already done it although she obviously doesn't remember it.

We may do Goofy's Kitchen on one of our non-park days but other than that, we don't have plans for any character meals because they are so pricey.

There's tables for two, so I am pretty sure you will get your own table.

All my grandkids LOVED it..,surprisingly, especially the 5 yo DGS who seems to have a crush on the Princesses, so we need to do this meal again instead of the Minnie one that I was planning on.

I talked it over with DH, and I think we are going to pass this time. We are already planning on doing the BBB & PFF so that should be plenty of princess!

However, DH did say he definitley wants to do Goofy's Kitchen and the Celebration BBQ!! Woo Hoo!!!

Sounds like you will have more than enough Princess stuff to contend with on this trip.:goodvibes And think of it this way, you guys can always change your mind if it comes to that. Your decision doesn't have to be final. If you get to DCA and see Ariel's and your DD looks sad to not be going there, you can always change plans and go.

By the way, :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 on the Goofy's Kitchen idea - I hope you all enjoy it!

I'm not surprised. You have a bevy of drop dead gorgeous women in their late teens or early 20s lavishing attention on you. Boys start to like that sort of thing around age 5 and stop liking it sometime shortly after death. :)

I was by myself as I wanted a sit down safe gluten free meal and liked Ariels, too chicken to try another place.

You can ask to sit at a window where there are tables for 4 that do not have other guests. I was set in the middle and there was a table of 4 setting about 2 feet from me to my left. The table you set at is yours and nobody will be with you. If you really want privacy then ask for a booth or window seat.

They will bring out a black metal tea thing with salad, jello and other goodies. They take your order while you munch. They randomly select families to be the royal family. If it is a birthdya you can order a mini cake or popup for the table and they will for free sing you happy birthday and make your day bright even if you do not buy the add ons. Dinner then a tray of desserts follows. Activities include the back of the kid menu and decorating your own crown. The princesses go to each table and as you enter you get to talk to Ariel who at times can be catty and is in a dress. I like her as she has spunk. There was a dancing thing were kids got banners and waved them and danced, some with a princess. Watch the bill as they tack on 15% tip or 18% for large groups.
