Just when we thought Epcot Security was well run ....

I'm not sure if it's an office chair, or an old hair dressers chair. My hair dressers chairs are almost identical to that...... lol
I like to think that we're looking at the modern day "An officer and a gentleman", instead of scooping her up from the factory floor, he's zoomed into her shared office, clipped her right onto the back, and whisked her down to Disney World. Romance.

There may be a good reason for it. The wife may be mobility impaired and possibly visually impaired that would stop her from having her own.

I'm just going to guess no, here. 1) nothing wrong with a guy who can come up with that set up and 2) it doesn't actually look safer than letting a visually impared person drive their own scooter.

I agree, disppointed there's no cupholder. And if I had been the lucky lady, I think I would have said "earl, honey, while you're at it, I want an awning. And can't you paint it a pretty color. add me a compartment for my chapstick sunglasses and popcorn. And don't forget the spare christmas lights!":dancer:

Surely someone reported this? It just LOOKS like a hazard, like driving behind an 18 wheeler with a poorly afixed load. I'd be the person she'd careen into.

I will never again doubt any story about what people see at WDW, its all Lord of the Flies or People of Walmart

Does the bar that attaches the back "chair" to the front chair swivel/bend? If it is a fixed bar then it is not considered a towed object but rather one very large/long vehicle I guess.
No matter what, it's a 2 person vehicle and breaks the rule posted, #2

Doesn't matter. It's against the rules, no matter what. If she's visually impaired they need to find another option. But we all know she's not visually impaired.

I don't know why Disney insists on using this particular language, but it only says "vehicles SHOULD be single rider and not exceed xyz..." It doesn't say MUST. And even if it breaks "the rules", it's Disney's rules and they retain the right to bend/change/ignore whatever rules they please, much to my chagrin. Unfortunately it's not against the law.

I think the rig shouldn't be allowed in, but I'm wondering if they found/argued some semantics based loophole. People never cease to amaze, eh?

Ok, then no way is it under 36" long

That's exactly what I thought.

52" long...it's 36" wide for the rule listed.

You're like my lawyer-SIL. :)

But what about the no training wheels or similar modifications part?

You are all so mean to this poor couple on their first trip to Disney after striking that bubblin' crude.

But what about the no training wheels or similar modifications part?

I believe That part applies to the sentence before it referencing 2-wheeled vehicles. No bikes or segways or things that can't stand up on their own, and no adding modifications to them so they can stand up unassisted.

The defense rests, your honor. LOL!
