I am trying to figure out when this Jersey Week thing is this year. I found one place that said that teachers conference is November 8-9, which I would have thought would have placed Jersey Week starting November 6th. But I saw somewhere else that it was the week before. Does anyone know for certain when it is? I have ressies for Oct. 5-Nov. 5. Nothing against anyone from New Jersey, but if they are coming down for the week I am booked, I may change my reservation.

ummm well a little offense :confused3

but rest assured teachers convention is the 10-11th. Which means it will be the week of the 6th. ;)

Thanks and please don't take offense. I think it is great that you all have this time that you can take off and go WDW. But I'm just looking for a time when there are low crowds (if that exists anymore). Sounds like I may be okay the week we are going.

I'll be there from Nov 6 to 12 in the Treehouses even if it is Jersey Week. It's the last week of F & W, and our soon to arrive granddaughter's first trip! We'll be loving every chance to push the stroller!

I'm offended too,so if I tell you i''ll be there would you change you time so that it would not be as crowded.Oh wait..I own a house in Orlando now so maybe you'll stay home all together.

most definitely offended. jersey week is during low attendance time and i doubt there would be so many people from nj going at the same time that it would bring crowds to ridiculous levels... where are you from? I would like to avoid going the week that people from your state may be making an appearance at the world.

Actually Jersey Week does pick up considerably as the week progresses and are no longer regarded as a low crowd time. It is still a fabulous week and we consider ourselves regular "Jersey Weekers", but the week before and the week after are typically less crowded--our personal experiences of course. :flower3:

Sorry I beg to differ here. My friend who is from NJ went to WDW during Jersey week last year and said how very crowded it was. Won't go back again during this timeframe. So with that said, I will AVOID Jersey week if at all possible. There is a reason it is called "Jersey Week".

I love everyone assuming the OP is avoiding people from Jersey instead of the crowds from Jersey.

Everyone is so sensitive these days...

Sort of thinking the same thing. I am not sure why people would be offended that someone wants to try to go during a week when it could possibly be less crowded.

If it is a "less crowded" week...Disney will certainly do something to make it a bit busier. IMHO, there are VERY few week that are "less crowded" anymore!

I have to agree....Jersey week is crowded. We are at the World during Jersey week every-other-year, because we close down the F&W festival every-other-year. If I wanted to do lots of parks/rides, I would avoid both this week and Pop Warner in December.

Nobody is assuming anything, except maybe you. The OP said "If THEY are coming down the week I am book, I may change my reservation". If the reason is what you state, the OP could have said, "If the week I'm going is Jersey week, I might change the reservation to avoid the crowds". But the OP said nothing about crowds, but implied that it's important to them to avoid people from Jersey. I'm not assuming anything. I'm going based on what I read. You seem capable of extended interpretation, congrats.

Jersey week is the 6th, that's when all us Jersey neanderthals show up with our tank tops on, Snooki masks and personal DJ's.

That week is also busy b/c of F&W, and Veterans day falls on that Friday, the 11th.

Denville? I'm on my way to SOGO tonight for dinner! Howdy, neighbor!

I was kidding, hence the winking smilie ;)

and I will be there Jersey Week so the more people that stay away because of us or crowds or want to go see Harry Potter, the better;) :)

My input (which might not matter after people feel so offended) is that I called to try to book that week, and the CM told me that it was nearly impossible to get anything BECAUSE it was the last week of F & W, Veteran's Day holiday, AND Jersey week.. I know we went one time over Mardi Gras, and the parks were packed with people from Louisiana. Not that they were bad people, just school was out for them so a ton of them were enjoying Disney. Who can blame them?

I wouldn't avoid people from Jersey. I WOULD avoid crowds when possible ( Unless of course you guys are bringing Pauly D!! Then I will be there crowds and all!! Haha):rotfl:

So THEY was short for Jersey neanderthal?

I could understand your reaction if the OP had made a single derogatory comment or had a known history of jersey-bashing. But using the word THEY isn't exactly a direct attack on the families of New Jersey public school students.

It is usually whatever week contains Election Day, which is the first Tuesday in November. This year Election Day is November 1 - but from other posts, the parent teacher conferences are the 10th and 11th. I thought it was Jersey WEEK because in NJ they would get Election Day off school, and then the conference dates in the same week. This year it doesn't seem to be the same week. So is it still Jersey Week? I don't know, I'm in Virginia.
