We are a party of seven (DH, myself, my parents, three youngest sons 17, 12 and 6). We are vacationing during spring break...(This will be our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. This our family's 25th trip to WDW. We honeymooned in WDW 25 years ago. We were supposed to celebrate our silver anniversary in Kauai, HI but-- had to cancel because we did not think my parents would be up to watching the kids 24/7 because of some serious health issues that came up for them. Now they are joining us in WDW and will take the kids "now and again" so we can have a bit of alone time. They were also in WDW last March and then Sept. before that) We haved dined at many locations in the past and have some definite favorites. We plan on my parents eating most meals with us--but they may be too tired some nights and will just eat at the resort. We tried to find a few places that are new to us to keep WDW fresh. We canceled Kouzzina because of the reviews.

1.) Le Cellier

2.) Sanaa (new)

3.) Kids/Grandparents at Kona--DH and me at Citricos (new)

or

Kids/Grandparents at Whispering Canyon--DH and me at Artist Point

4.) Teppan Edo

5.) Raglan Road (new) or 'Ohana

6.) GF Cafe

7.) Boma

8.) T-Rex (new)

We will probably have a spontaneous breakfast (Boma perhaps) or lunch (Mama Melrose or LTT) at some point during the trip. We will also have tea and trifle at the Gardenview Lounge as it's a favorite.

Any ideas for our anniversary are welcome! Thanks for looking and contributing your opinion.

1.) Le Cellier A must do for us

2.) Sanaa (new)Have been reading rave reviews

3.) Kids/Grandparents at Kona--DH and me at Citricos (new)

or

Kids/Grandparents at Whispering Canyon--DH and me at Artist Point
I would go with option 1 even though we've never done Kona or any signature restaurants; but we detested WCC an dwe won't go back (DH got sick on the meat in the skillet and I didn't like any of the food--thought it was gross and service was terrible)

4.) Teppan Edo never done

5.) Raglan Road (new) or 'Ohana never done either; I've read some really bad reviews of Raglan Road and we cancelled our meal there last year after a good friend here on the DIS told us how awful it was when they were there

6.) GF Cafe never done

7.) Bomagreat breakfast--we absolutely fell in love with it in September

8.) T-Rex (new)never done

Comments in red. I would not count on a "spontaneous meal" at Disney--especially during Spring Break.

Happy 25th anniversary early; DH and I celebrated our 25th at Disney last year and our 26th (obviously) this year.

KatMark,

Believe it or not, I remember that you celebrated your 25th because those celebrations have been catching my eye for a while.;)

I appreciate your feedback! I, too, dislike WCC--very much...but I thought it might be a fun option for the boys with their grandparents and a chance for us to all see the lodge again. We have stayed at WL and it is a favorite. We all love Artist Point.

I am really conflicted about Raglan so will wait to see if I receive more input on that one...Again, 'Ohana is a little more kid friendly but not really much of a personal favorite of mine.

T-Rex is the big one for the kids.

Thanks for all your input. Did you and your DH do anything special for your anniversary (carriage ride, etc.)?

1.) Le Cellier
Loved it! Don't miss the Cheddar Soup
2.) Sanaa (new)
Not really our cup of tea, as a little eclectic for us but others have raved about it
3.) Kids/Grandparents at Kona--DH and me at Citricos (new)

or

Kids/Grandparents at Whispering Canyon--DH and me at Artist Point

4.) Teppan Edo
Very very nice. This is an excellent place to go w/o the kids as well...
5.) Raglan Road (new) or 'Ohana
Ohana= lots of good food
6.) GF Cafe

7.) Boma

8.) T-Rex (new)

It's hard to suggest restaurants for other people, because everybody varies in their tastes, but if I were to pick just one for my anniversay, I think I would splurge and take my princess to the Chef's Table at Victoria & Alberts. Very pricey but from what I hear, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience

Congrats on your 25th! My wife and I did our 20th a couple years ago on the DCL and we are now ruined for life. Best trip ever! And Palo's was maybe the most romantic restaurant I've been to. Thinking about the new Disney resort on Oahu for our 25th! :)

Great idea on Le Cellier & Boma - yum!

For the kids/grandparents at Kona - I'd switch it to Ohana. There is more entertainment for the kids - and for the grandparents!!! Nobody has to fuss over what they are going to order or anything either. I prefer Ohana over Kona - but that's my opinion :) (I've never been to WC so I can't comment on that)

I can't comment on the others because I haven't been to those. There are so many awesome restaurants though that there are few that you could 'go wrong'.

Have fun!

No, we really didn't do anything special other than make it a two week trip. We spent nine days at Disney with our best friends and went to Fulton's for our special anniversary dinner (it holds special memories for us as it was the first restaurant DH took me to at Disney) and then we went to the beach for a week. We just made it as relaxing a trip as we could (my dad died a week before our trip and it was hard enough just going away so I just wanted to relax). I hope you have a wonderful time and I'm sure you'll pick great restaurants.

Defintely agree with point about Kona vs Ohana. My DD's loved Ohana. ONe of their favs, maybe even more that Cinderella's Castle Meal.

.) Le Cellier love it!

2.) Sanaa (new) never been

3.) Kids/Grandparents at Kona--DH and me at Citricos (new)

or

Kids/Grandparents at Whispering Canyon--DH and me at Artist Point I have never eaten at Citricos or Artist Point but we have eaten at both Kona and WCC. I would choose your second option. I think the kids would enjoy WCC more and I would love to try Artist Point. ;)

4.) Teppan Edo LOVE it..our favorite from our last trip..booked it again for next week!

5.) Raglan Road (new) or 'Ohana never been to RR -no interest. We LOVE Ohana, again..booked for 1 week from tonight.:goodvibes

6.) GF Cafe never been but I hear wonderful things.

7.) Boma we didn't enjoy dinner, just didn't care for the seasonings. Breakfast is supposed to be excellent. I regret not having breakfast there when we stayed at AKL.

8.) T-Rex (new) We really enjoyed it. Fantastic theming, excellent food.
