Just want to gripe

We stayed a week at BWV last week. Although we're owners there, we had never stayed there before (at least in the Villas). Anyway, we had a studio, which was fine - no complaints there. But I had to bring my laptop to do a little bit of work every morning and there was no electrical outlet anywhere near the table. So I had to sit on the couch with my laptop, which was a huge pain. I mentioned it to the people downstairs but they really couldn't be bothered with me. I know, I know, I'm not in Iraq and there are starving children in the world, but it was frustrating.. I mean, no electrical outlet?

Remember that BWV was designed and built in the mid 1990s, prior to most of us being joined at the hip to technology, 1996 laptops were heavy and clunky, not powerful and few people owned them.

After reading the beginning of your post, I was expecting your gripe to be related to the erratic wifi, which is my gripe. There is an outlet near the table in 1 bedroom units. We don't stay in studios so I was not aware of your issue. I suppose that the cost of retrofitting outlets is prohibitive. I keep extension cords and a power strip in my Owners Locker, so you might want to save yourself a headache and do that next time. It would be interesting to know if any other DVC units have this same problem.

Not really much they could do. The hotel is 15+ years old. Can't see them running new electrical lines at this stage. Maybe in 2042...

Why not just run off your battery for "a little bit of work?" Last summer I sat out on the patio (1st floor room) and was able to get work done every day.

That's why I bring a small extension cord with me. I never seem to be able to find on outlet in the location I need it.

Just out of curiosity, what did you expect them to do?

I have an extension cord and power strip in my travel bag. Between lack of outlets and their locations in hotels I am always glad to have them.

Yeah, that was my thought too. I'm not sure what you thought they should do about it. Did you want them to move you to a different resort that had electrical outlets in better places for you? Maybe you should have specifically asked for an extension cord.

We usually plug our laptops in at night and run them on battery from anywhere during the day.

Yeah, as much as I love our home resort, BWV, I have to admit, the outlet situation is less than optimal. As others mentioned, we also bring a power strip or two in our luggage every trip (and the TSA always checks them out too ;)). They did much better with the outlets at AKV, and gosh I love all that extra space too.
