Just waiting for my DH to open and reject his FD present!!

Am I the only one with the husband who can not will not accept presents very well. Love the guy -- really. He's perfect in practically every other way. He just returns (read: makes me return) at least 50% of the gifts we give him. He once made me return a bottle of (his brand of) after shave because he wasn't completely done with the old one (it was 3/4 empty). And I don't buy him anything fancy -- I learned that a loooong time ago. I buy him things he needs, and he rejects them. There have been times he's told me only a few weeks later that he needs what he just told me to return.

What is this? Do we need Doctor Phil -- or are lots of guys like this?crazy2: -- crazy)

Or am I the crazy one for continuing to shop for this man??? It's Father's Day! I have to get him something!

If it's something you know he is going to need, I wouldn't return it. I would put it in the closet until he said that he needed it. As for him not accepting the gifts - oh well, you tried. It was the thought that counts.

How about a gift card to his favorite place to eat, play ( amusement parks/baseball games ) or to some place like Home Depot- my husband loves tools but they are expensive and he asks for loews or home depot gift cards for most gifts- easy to buy and he gets to choose his gift !

I'm sorry you get such a response from your DH. It seems that an appropriate reaction might be "Gee honey, thanks so much" regardless of his true feelings.

When you "think" you got him the perfect gift, mine says: 'What did you get me that for?" So, I just get him a card now.

My boyfriend has those tendencies.

And he is so generous with me. I get Diamond earrings... when I ask him what he wants he responds a shirt. The man has a closet full of shirts now! LOL!

Just give him Money. Money is like one size fits all. And then that way he can go get what he wants. I hope it works out.

I am pleased to announce that all gifts were received and accepted. DD and I each gave him CDs and I gave him some accesories for his Palm Pilot. He liked them. (We'll see if he uses them )

This strange man has a drawer full of gift certificates for meals, massages, books, and other things he likes -- he lets them lapse. Don't ask me to explain him -- I'm just married to him! He just doesn't like receiving presents.
