Just visited the Rainforest Cafe...

Just came back from visiting my sister in Toronto this weekend. I finally visited the Rainforest Cafe at the Yorkdale Mall. It really is a great atmosphere and a perfect restaurant for kids. My 5 & 7 year old were so impressed by the monkey's and gorillas moving around! I had the cedarwood salmon and really enjoyed it. DH had a chicken breast which he wasn't too impressed with, and the kids had the dinosaur nuggets (how can you go wrong with that for kids?) and loved getting the cups to bring home.

Hi Mickey: Nice to hear that you enjoyed the RFC! I haven't been to the one in DD but I would have liked to try it out but we didn't have enough time so glad to hear that you enjoyed the one in TO. Does anyone know when the RC is scheduled to open in Niagara Falls? It was supposed to open this spring but my DS's girlfriend was just down there a few weeks ago and she says it looks like the volcano is all that's finished on it so far. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the post!

Sammi, The official opening is May 24, I know that the inside is done, just supposed to finish up the outside. Kids want to go try it out, as we always go to the ones at WDW.

We were thinking of going over to the Falls in the next week or so, so hopefully we'll be able to try it out.I know every time we are at Disney we always talk about going but never seem to find the time. We are on a weeks holidays now but look at the darned weather forecast for the entire week! lolHope you are doing well.....and thanks again.

The brand new Rainforest in Niagara Falls is now opened. We are friends of the owners and waiting for the official grand opening party...can not wait!

My daughter is truning thirteen and thought it would be neat to have a party at the Rainforest, do you know if your friends do anything for birthdays. I realize there is stuff for kids up to 12, but wondering what they do for other gatherings. If you can help, thanks so much!!!!!!

Hi there! I didn't know there was a NF RFC! YIPPY! Must visit this summer.

dd's 8th birthday party will be at Yorkdales RFC, but know I'm thinking about bringing the lot to NF! Sleep over afterwards! Maybe I'll rent a nice hotel room and the kids can go swimming too!

Anyway, I wanted to write to you all about RFC because that's where we (GTA DISer's) had a DIS meeting a few weeks back! It was help 2 weeks before our WDW trip, how nice for us! We gathered at the RFC and had lunch with the greatest people. We chatted Disney and I got tons of info!

Maybe we can do a DISmeet at the NEW NF RFC! What do you say?

I am a Yankee but our business has a location in Canada...can I come? I asked, yes, their is a small party room and they are packed already as Victoria Day weekend and Memorial Day Weekend crowds are there. Do a DIS meet please!!!

Well, I guess if everyone wants a Dis/Niagara meet at the RFC perhaps we can starting asking for good dates. The Toronto people seem to have there's going for early July, when would be a convenient time for everyone hee. I think being Niagara Falls is very busy through the summer, we will need a good deal of notice for planning. Perhaps the end of July? Let us know and we'll see what can be done/

Glad to hear that you are once again thinking about a NF DIS meet. The GTA one is still not finalised because we aren't getting the response we were looking for. We were really looking for a BIG meet with people from all over coming to it. Perhaps if you start a separate post for the meet you'll get more response to it.
