You're going to love POR. We were just there in July. Even though it was sold out, we hardly saw anyone near our room or in the quiet pool. The main pool & food court was a different story, but not that bad. I loved it.

So is it worth getting the disney visa for the room discounts? I looked into getting one about a year ago but found the Interest rate they were charging to be horrible. It was around 20%.

Do you have to spend so much on the card in order to get these discounts or so you just need to put it on the card?

I did it with the MYW package. We were at POP for 8 nights, with a 7 day Park Hopper and Water park opt. *we are getting in at 4 the first day so we decieded to take it easy and not go to the parks). Our cost was $1769.80 for the 2 adults and 1 child. Now our package is $1671.38 at POR. I look up the price without the discount for POR and it is $2191.20, so it was a $520 discount off the regular price at POR. So i don't know the cost of the hotel by itself. But at $89/ night that is $712.00. I just looked the prices up for The Magic your way tickets with park hopper and water parks, which we have and it is $295.02 for my DD3, and For my DH (to be it is our honeymoon) and my Self $334.43 per person. So that is $963.88. Which with the hotel at your cost is: $1675.88, which would be about $4.00 cheaper. We had the Prefered room that is why our discount works better for us at POR. Hope this helps.

all you have to do is charge your room to your disney visa, but on the 16th or 17th this same promo is going to open to the public, so you might as well just wait a couple of days rather than getting a credit card just for this. The advantages of the disney visa are
1. you get to book great deals before the general public
2. all disney vacation purchases (the room reservations and MYW packages) are 0% interest for 6 months
3. you get to earn disney dollars for your trips
4. you get the free photo in EPCOT

I enjoy my DV, but I wouldn't get a card JUST for this promo. HTH

You do get 6 months no interest when you pay for your trip on the disney visa. That includes the deposits

You are right, i called for our orginal ressie, and it was not open for that hotel, so thats when they offered me the upgrade.
