Just Upgraded my TV and now I have HD!!!

Phooey on them, then. I shall have to send them a note of my displeasure. I thought it was odd that they wouldn't...

you wont be the first to do that. There are supposed to sending up a new satellite sometime before the end of the year, which is supposed to give them more capacity for HD next year. Hopefully when that comes up they will add travel HD and ESPNU HD as well as.

Wow what a difference. All my favorite shows are amazing, the picture quality is unbelievable, and did I mention the sports. We ended up getting a Samsung 1080p this past weekend.

I was really debating on a Samsung but I just went for the Panasonic 50S1 (over the 46G10). The $999 bundle at Amazon (includes the Panasonic BD60 blu-ray player) was just too good to pass up and from what I've read at AVSForum, the Panasonic edges out the Samsung in picture quality (and the reports of the buzzing noise from Samsungs scared me off, too)

Can't wait for it to arrive now (4-7 week backorder...ugh)

Its really not as bad as you think. When our bedroom TV konked out 2 months ago, we took the plunge and got a Samsung 40" HD, absolutely love this thing. But here's the thing. We're only paying 24.00 a month, for 3 years. Thats all. With Best Buys credit card, there is no interest for 36 months, if we bought a Samsung. So it really is very affordable, and as long as you're not late on your payment each month, (oh so important not to be late) they give you 3 years to pay it off. Nice and what a difference. And Tivo makes it a complete package.

Thanks for asking luvmarypoppins. She is back to work and doing well. She does get very very tired in the afternoons though. Not sure what to do to help her there. Hope your doing well.

We don't have a blu-ray player yet. I haven't even watched a regular dvd on the new tv yet either. We are currently watching the Chronicles of Narnia on ABC Family in HD. Good stuff. We are Time Warner customers and when switched out the box we got all the premium channels for a few days......talk about your candy store

Can't wait for the NFL on Sunday.

Now all I all need is some Disney Parks stuff on the travel channel in HD! Has anyone seen any of that programming?

I pretty much forced my husband to get one last year and we went with the Samsung 1080 46 inch. Quite ironic.. he now counts our tv as his favorite possession. It really is amazing and although I do not enjoy the football games, I have to admit they are amazing to see on HD. I totally agree about the celebrities too! They do not look as good in HD!
